Hey everybody. I'm new here and to internet forums in general. I was wondering if any of you fine people could help me get my pictures uploaded so you can check them out and help me! Do i need to get a hosted server to hold my pictures or what? If there is a forum posting already designed for this, would you please direct me to it? Thanks everybody! Oh, and pictures under your names? Anyway, whatever comes I want to learn it.

To post images onto this forum, you will need to use vB code. You type IMG surrounded by brackets, the address where the image is stored, and then /IMG with brackets around that. When you make a post, there are a few links below the submit button which explain this and more.

I think you can attach images to your posts, so you don't have to have your own place to store images and you won't have to use IMG tags. However, it might be better if you do find a free website that can hold images so you don't strain this server as much with bandwidth use.

You won't be able to post anything on your hard drive. I thought there was an option to attach files to posts, but maybe that's available only to certain people because I don't see the option. I guess you'll have to find a website that allows free image uploading. If I remember correctly, Deviant Art (http://www.deviantart.com) allows that.

I'll do that. Thanks again, already a big help!

Yeah, you will have to find somewhere to upload your image and then include it with the IMG code. You can not attach images to your posts - that would have been a lot easier, but our bandwidth use would increase dramatically :/

As for the "image under your name", that's an avatar. You should be able to change it in the User Control Panel. As with the images you post, you will have to upload this avatar to your own webspace and supply the link to it... :)
