Very good stuff going on here!
Nothing to crit, just a small request ^^: It'd be cool to see a scene or something, just to see how you handle your characters in an enviro.
But that's just me, do whatever you want :=)

Dude some of this stuff is looking pretty cool, your developing a style very quickly. It would be cool to see some of the linework rendered out in pencil a bit more, to get more of a tab on values.

Keep posting!

Cool stuff going on this SB. A few of the first posts feel a bit flat to me, but all of the later stuff is looking really nice. Good flowing line and solid characters. Looking forward to seeing more.

Life drawings lack focus (especially compared to your imagination ones)
Work some richer darker lines in there as well to suggest mass and depth, as well as focal points.

good suggestion, I'm going to try and get some more "from life" stuff down this week and I'll see if I can really push the depth with the lines more. Gracias.

Nice concept work. Some really solid forms. You seem to be in a way with your portraits stylistically (the junction for the brow and the ascension of the nose seem warped generally) , you might want to do some life work to free it up. A small critique, actually. Just a note. Keep at it.

thanks for the comment/crit. I decided to try some nude studies and get some more actual realistic anatomy going through my head... hopefully these will be the first of many.

Photoshop, with ref of course. First image took about 20 mins, second probably hour or so. I need to find a better way to paint gradients besides the smudge tool heh.

"I'm lookin for a sketchgroup or "SSG" or whatever to join. I need some real crits, and would be happy to give some to others."

I think your wackiness and willingness to stretch boundaries would play well on 3CH Random topic of the Week, in the Community Activities. The trash talking is just for play. We will help you to fill these sketches out with environments, color, or whatever. Check it out. Seriously. I think you can get some votes with your imagination.

Hey man, thanks for dropping by and posting in my sketchbook. I'm really digging those digital figure paintings of yours. It's also great the way you flesh out your pages with design and figures from life and mind, not a bit of space wasted.

Anyway, keep up the good work and I'll see ya at QuakeCon 07!

Ferg
September 17th, 2006, 06:27 PM
feesh - Thanks. The ween show was fucking spectacular. I passed out during Zoloft from a combination of intense moshing, dehydration and low blood sugar, but I was only out for 10 seconds or so and I had 2 good friends with me that kept me from falling over or hurting myself or anything. 4th time seeing ween live, they keep getting better each time.

arttorney - I'd love to get involved in that (especially since it seems like you guys are in need or more people), but I still am not really any good at drawing specific ideas. Most of what I draw is just stream-of-conciousness type pencilbation. I dunno. Maybe.

revender - thx, I think I picked up the "pack the page with drawings" habit from another sketchbook thread here. The interplay between all the tightly-packed stuff has added some neat shit I think.

Sorry for the slow updates, the game studio I've been working at just closed down and I've been regrouping for another project. Here's a little bit of... stuff.

Nice pages, you always rock the moleskin damn hard.
Cool new character, I think the concept and anatomy are workin for you, if you bring it to finish you'll need more interest in the BG and maybe need to unify your palette a bit more.

wow! nice ideas. the figure drawings and the graphic stuff at the end are awesome! can you color some of your other drawings like those nude figures?

Wow, just beautiful work. i love all the crazyness in ur drawing. But then you do something simple and nice. Wide range is always good. The concepts to your sketchs are also awsome, just great stuff. Come by my page if u ever find time, thanks
