alright, a problem i noticed in the "focus on the legs" piece is the guy holding the sword (rad character design btw) doesnt really so much look like he's actually standing, he deosnt appear to be place any weight at all on either leg, there's no evidence of pressure or weight. The best way to do it would be (probably ...no definitely not the best) would be to line the weight-bearing leg up with the head, becaue in the general contro-posto (spelling ::cringes::) stance, there's more weight placed on one leg. so say the weights on the right (his right, our left) leg, line the foot up with the head, lock the knee and bend the other leg, this should (stress should) give more of an appearence of realistic stance.

hope i helped

sin- yeah, i understand what youre saying, but for this guy i wanted his weight to be evenly distributed on both legs.. ...contraposto is something i need to start using now that ive finally started drawing legs (maybe i ll take a quick glimse at roman sculpture). ...it always seems to work well and give a relaxed and natural feeling to the pose. thanks for commenting

"Bend the knees some turn the pelvis over a little to straighten the back" Almost direct quote frm my Tai chi instructer:) I think that may help give the guy a little more eased stance.
