Hi everyone, im creating an illustration of a female character and can hopefully get some good crits and would welcome any ideas.

I was recommended to change the composition to make it more dynamic and let the eye focus on the character. I have been working on the composition, pose, background, perspective and proportions.

I will eventually sketch in the details and then paint. The anatomy is weak and any comments on what to improve would be appreciated. Thanx

I'd say the black triangles in the corners should go and the composition should take up the whole picture plane... plus it looks like you're missing lines the perspective of your environment, but I can't say that for sure because I'm not certain what everything is supposed to be yet.

I'd suggest moving your ninja girl up and to the right a bit to get her head out of that strong line behind it (that's a general compositional no-no - running a strong line through a head).

This is sort of a weird way to block in a painting, but there's no real problem with that if it works for you.

There doesn't seem to be a whole lot to critique at this stage. Everything is going to change except the lines. An image will change a *lot* when you block in the colour. Do that, then post again and I'm sure you'll get far more useful crits.
