Technically, I'm done with this picture, but I know it's not as good as what some of you guys can do out there, so I'm posting it here in hope that you guys can tell me what to do/not to do. Please focus on the overall presentation, and not the tiny details. I need help with the lighting, the colors to choose, and the perspective. The point of this painting is to show a whole room, as would be presented in a game, that's why the perspective is off. I'm not sure how else to go about creating the room with the right perspective, when it's for a game. Those of you with experience, feel free to rip this piece apart. Without starting over, what's the best way to fix this piece? I'm very open to critiques, so don't feel like you'll be hurting my feelings or anything. I may reply explaining how/why I created some things, but I'm open for any suggestions.

Hi, quick general stuff that I've noticed:
Perspective-wise, you will notice that the stuff in the back, especially the plates and the pitcher are out of whack by comparison to the table and stools. The plates should have roughly the same elliptic shape as the rest.
As far as mood goes, try to play with saturation a bit, to darken the dark area and lighten the light areas, it might help.
You've done shadows sometimes and not other. It might help the mood again to add more shadows, though it's not necessary.
My advice? look at screenshots of isometric games (2D top down but modeled in 3D) that have a roughly similar interior and see what they do. Lots or RPG do that (Ultima, Neverwinter Nights, etc...)
Those isometric views are tough. I hate them :)

Yeah, I checked up those games. I even bought a bunch of "art books" for games to use as references as well. It's extremely tough doing these perspective shots.
Adding shadows should help, as well as playing with the contrast, good ideas. Those background stuff are soooo hard to draw (plates, etc), because the paper is small and it gets to be really hard :( I'll see what I can do though.
