My first attempt at a manekineko (the little beckoning cat you see in many Japanese stores). What strikes you as off or in need of improvement?

Its adorable.
The only thing I can see is the highlight on the left paw... did you mean to blend that one in more? The rest seems more smoothly blended in and the highlight there looks like a scribble... like you placed the color, intended to go back in to blend and maybe just missed it.

Overall its really nice.

The way the little cat is tucked into his feet looks a little weird and flat. Beyond that, no crits. Really cute.

i think the highlight on the left hand is a sig. i could be wrong though.

very cute, although to me it looks just a little flat. maybe push the shadows a bit more. just a bit.
