bellas,

your drawing skills are good, but you should try to create some depth in your piece. Actually there is no depth in this picture...

Think of foreground/background, focus, composition...

Try to achieve these by using less saturation, less details, less sharpness in the background and outer focus areas...

I hope, i could make my thoughts clear...

nice dreamy atmosphere. for your future works, you should also think about the meaning of lights and shadows. within such a scene, object's colors should not be taken at the first degree. each objects or plane or surface of your scene will receive lights from areas that you will have previously chosen smartly, in order to emphasize a decent composition.

keep it up. :D

Bellas, they are encouraging you to paint more. That's a good thing! I believe Oblio is trying to show you the flatness of the painting. the background and the foreground are not contrasted enough. Deeper shadows, brighter highlights... think about the sculpting of the figures and the trees, etc....

Oblio did a wonderful thing here, bellas. He showed you with a picture what he wanted to say. A picture tells more than thousand words...Thank you Oblio! This post was very helpful i guess...good idea!

bellas, i guess with your question you wanted to know what "keep it up" means...it means, that you should continue drawing and that you're on a good way...

...so keep it up! ;)

Hey Belas,

i've got my shovel and went digging some old thread about values. Unfortunately some pictures were eaten by the worms of the web but i hope it will at least give you a hint about the direction you should study a bit.
You'll see that i'm a joke when it comes to my work but i try to make an opinion nevrthe less.
Anyway - there are few HUGE MASTERS helping in this thread!
So.. take their word for it!
