Painter Tutorials and Techniques

I've gone through so many tutorials trying to find the answer to this, but haven't found any. So many of the paintings out there (Jason Manley, Todd Lockwood, etc) uses digital painting. I imagine a lot of them uses Painter, yet I have no idea what type of brushes they use. How do you get the effect of oil or acrylic painting? There are absolutely no tutorials on the web for this. Even Jason Manley's tutorial didn't describe the brushes he chose. Anyone wanna help out?

Hi Riki,

I think only the artist would be able to tell you the exact brushes they used. It is probable that their brushes are customised to meet their exact requirements too.

You could try Chris Cimonetti's Fine Art 2 brushes. They have been designed to simulate real life oil and acrylic brushes, and are coded 'O'=oil, 'A'=acrylic.

Don Seegmiller (one of the stars of this webs) uses his own brushes. You may even download them from his web.
