Hi gomantis~my favourite photo will be 3,7 and 12. I like the colour composition in that photos. As for [7], theres a eye in the photo right? look pretty scary~ I quite like 12 too, the greyness in that photo look just right to me. The rest is alright to me but some seemed out of focus.

p/s: I am new too. I hope my comments make some sense. Overall keep up the good work~

5,6 and 10 are out of focus, the colores are great on them and so is the lighting. I think on 10 you might have toyed with a longer shutter speed and moved the camera, big tip when useing a slow shutter speed get a tripod trust me, it'll be a lifesaver. Great job on playing with the center of the images btw. Your doing great more practise and I see great things for you sweetie!

Hey gomantis,
I really like your stuff. I love picture number 2!!! To my mind, it is the best one of all your shots. It shows that you have got a great view: The idea is awesome and the composition, too. Such a picture is more valuable than others, because nobody has comparable ones. It is a kind of singularly. Do you know what I mean? For example picture number 3 is also nice, but a picture with a sunset or sky formations you can find in every photo-community.
Another question: Where did you take the nice nature shots?
Keep on taking photos...because I'm curious to see more.

hey thanks for the comments.

The nature shots are from Mexico (Portrero Chico) and South Texas (Big Bend National Park).

What's with the 8th picture? Giant brocolli exhibit?

My favorite is the first one, to improve, you should take pictures at public places, returaunts, candlelit jazz clubs, places with color - I can tell you would have a way with capturing a live scene as opposed to a singularly set photograph.

Keep doing you

1-4 are great I really have nothing wrong with, the motion of the girl on the horse was captured very nicely no blur on her or the horse, good work!

5- Cactus is just a little out of focus, for plant life close up I recommend a macro lens.

6- WAY out of focus!!!

7- The infrared sensor is a little blocked out by flash, try getting the shot in an evenly lit room with no flash.

8- Great picture great composition colors work well together and get the viewer's attention effectively, nice work.

9- This one is WAY too close up too fuzzy and the depth of field is all wacked, try backing up and zooming in watch your focus!!!

10- The idea is good, but I would move more to the right so you don't see the other mountain in the background and try a less cloudy day, the colors are so washed it just looks very apathetic and dull.

11- Decent composition, would definitely look nicer if you upped the hue and contrast in Photoshop a little (Make it more rich, not so washed and dead)

12- Nice pic good overall composition good work!

13- Not bad but I can't tell what your focal point is and pic overall is out of focus.

14- Good idea but try a better angle of the cactus so you can see perhaps other colors or values of the plant, again wait for a bright day your colors will come out better and richer!

What Kind of camera do you use (sorry if this was forementioned somewhere in the thread) brand? type? I racommend you study the handbook for your camera also and try to understand the concepts of focus and depth of feild thouroughly, also study up a little on the rule of thirds and, if you wanna be unique study up on the rule of fourths (MUCH less commen then rule of thirds). I look forward to see some more of your work, practice makes perfect! (one more thing, use good colors (For vibrant colors best to shoot on a sunny day), never have a picture dull or washed out unless it works best with the shot and feel of the pic!) ;)
