It started out as a painting study of an African sculpture...and wound up putting robot parts on it.

the link you placed in the img tags should end .jpg not .html, it's a pretty cool pic actually and a shame it can't be seen.

the glow is a bbit bright and a touch offputting in relation to the red, but it does give it a certain mmade for children quality, even if the sharp edges do not.
The positoning of the bg kinda cuts in at the same line as the head so you lose the transition from the neck, I'd suggest making the bg cover the whole space, and possibly give it a smoother or less busy finish.
