So I wanted to really express his inner anguish by covering his face with a helmet. It had nothing to do with helmets being easier to draw. he's really hiding his emotions behind a mask. We all wear masks. And through this helmety-ness we are forced to hide away from the world. Almost as if we were deformed crab clawed demon guys. But thats just me, tell me what you think.:blahblah::spam:

Nice piece! I think his left breast could be further out though.

Here, edit your post and put this in to show the image -

There are some very cool things going on here, but not below the waist. The leg positions don't read well and are awkward. I'd also say that for his head to be inside the helmet, it would have to be very tiny.

i gotta agree with dogfood. but, there is definite potential here. rework it a bit and let's see it!

i love it! very talanted. but i would rather see him without helmet, the helmet seems to not fit in very well in the picture :S something with the lights or colors. and some more light on the pants, else its great (:

I think the only thing is the helmet or mask. It looks to new to be on a man who looks like he's been through the dirt. But other than that its a good picture!

Those horns could use some texture, and I agreee that the helmet is too small. He also has no nipples or bellybutton, which may be because he's a demon, but he could stand to have some kind of detail added to his torso. The drapery of his clothes looks faked - pretty well faked, but it'd look a lot better if you perhaps had a friend model with a sheet and baggy pants. The rocks look freakin amazing, though, wonderful job there! And the musculature is good - his abs may be a little wide and square but everything else looks great. Might want to up the contrast on the foreshortened hand to make it stand out from the body a bit more.

word. I hear ya and I will remove the helmet. Iwill play with the pants too. Those are generally the things I hate most, pants and legs. I lose all creativity when it comes to pants.

Two words popped into my mind immediately upon seeing the new version: peripheral vision.

yeah, he'd be pooched there. But you know, he is a demon and could have an extra demon sense that lets him feel those around. I shoulda put an eyeball on his claw arm.

Nice fix on those abs :) Looks much better. For the legs... I used to have a hatred for feet, and one day a friend of mine, who isn't an artist and of course has no skill or training in it, said "You don't like feet, do you?" When you know you don't like a certain area or aren't as good at it, it'll show in your work. So get out your sketchbook and a mirror and draw your legs and pants over and over :) Soon you'll get a feel for where the fabric should fold and everything in your life will become easy and fun!
