Courtney Love(?)
Zach Braff
Kevin James(rW)
Peter Falk(?)
Jerry Orbach(?)
George Hamilton(?)
Annie Lennox(only because I can't think of any other man-haired female celebs)

Now, I hope I got those right, but really I had a tough time. They are great caricatures technically, meaning to say style-wise, but they don't hit right yet. Perhaps other features need to be emphasized, I don't know. But you can get closer somehow.

Last one is Julia Roberts. Imo, that's the most succesful one, the features are so warped, but still recognizable. Also the soft and minimal shading makes this stand out to me more. I also like the Columbo one. Kevin James is good too, but not immediately recognizable.

First one is Lolo Ferrari. Really dislike the hand in that one, it distracts from the face too much. Don't know the other dudes, but you could plan those sketches better or draw on bigger paper, now you're getting cramped cos you run out of paper.

Lolo Ferrari was that chick on Eurotrash with massive...star potential who died a few years ago. He means Pete Burns for number one.

I think those aresome really great charicatures, they remind me of Dereen Brown the TV Hypnotists artwork::

I have a weird tendency to exceed the paper NO MATTER HOW BIG IT IS (tears her hair in desperacy) I can yes plan these ones in the haven of my own home but what if then when Im there in the field, I try to have a simulation or create the same tension of getting only one chance and doing it fast, highest 10 minutes, seriously I have no idea how its going to be, I have never done this before, but what the heck, its an experience to learn from plus the possibilities, Im planning to print visiting cards or something so that people could be calling me to their parties or something, wow how cool could that be, :D I prefer I was invited to an orderly setting than go wonder in the bars alone, U.K. is not all that safe place to do that....

hmm... only thing is on the Julia roberts one, you exaggerated the features, but not the expression- IMO caricatures are as much about communicating emotion as they are getting a likeness. You have to find the key points in the features that signal an emotion, and super exaggerate those... Though I'm not a pro, just a specualtor.

I know exactly what you mean, and I know that these are not the best they could be so I havent really pushed it as far as they could go, its only one first trial but one should redraw until you nail it, or rework one until you get there..........yeah I agree with you

good idea here is my first one (if appears hasty is because I like to work on image as long as it excites me and move on to next one, its not a crime to revisit them when you gather new interest in them is it ???)

Thanks for not complaining about the unfinishedness, I work in this way that I consentrate on one issue at first, Im now like learning the twisting of faces and the proportions because that is what is burning in my mind now, when I want to get my hands on next one to try new things again you dont really have much patience to start doing the details, when I have satisfied my curiosity and feel like Im beginning to get a bit of confidence and routine in it then one can relax and start finessing the details on these pieces you know !!!

What about Pete Burns then ? I thought I nailed his expression quite well as well, that is basicly his typical facial expression as he is there in Big Brother teehee, I wonder if he would like this, well he himself is basicly a caricature already himself as he has gone to exaggarate his own features so much, well are they even his own features those lips are monsters now, I saw some pics of him as younger and untouched by scalpel and god damn he looks hot I mean like really really sexy, once again he shouldnt have gone to do these things but I quess he has to do somehing to keep people interested in himself...... or something I dont really know brrlsss

Okay, I did work on this "pain in the ass" for the whole day yesterday, sometimes when you are doing caricatures of people, its not always a norm that if the person has special features its easy to make a caricature of him or her, or then Im just too inexperienced yet... anyways, to have caricaturistic features to begin with does not mean that you will easily instantly succeed in doing a caricature as if it is making it easier, at least for me and I dont know why is that....

Here is Julia Roberts as younger, she is defenately the most beautiful woman in the world, big noses are beautiful when they have interesting shape, gives so much character to persons face, I hate my own Michael Jackson nose argh it is so neutral and makes my face look so dull or something

oh my god no wonder he'd have to do the operations he is already 40 years old, not so cute an boyish anymore. btw, has anybody seen Boy George recently, My God, well I did, its sad :(

I read the hmm interview and I really loved it, such beautiful understanding with each other, two lonely riders or two shining stars reaches out to held each others hands. Here is my favourite part of the interview:

"Morrissey: But to be perfectly serious about this whole thing, Pete has been a wonderful friend to me. He really does care and when I get depressed he'll pester me and he'll persecute in a wonderful way. Other people will just leave me alone but he won't do that. He'll stay there and take me out of the whole thing. And that is really priceless to me."

That sounds like real love to me !!!!!!!!!!

and then here is Kevin James for today, its a happy day sun is shining and world is such beautiful place to stay and perhaps one day I will meet somebody and I will experience true real love and I will be so totally raptured by it...

Here is handsome Kevin James, I made him a bit fatter here to create some caricaturisticness in him but even as fat he looks highly attractive, such cute puppy eyes always in good humour <3 and he has that kind of very masculine teddybearish manly appeal to him... I actually saw him recently and he seems to have started doing excercise again because was sporting some quite nice muscles wow hot !!! wasnt he a professional American Football player before he became a comedian ?

Holy carp, is that Kevin James?!?! MY EYES!!! :x

Seriously, this is some outstanding stuff. Having done some caricature work in the past, I can honestly say you nailed George Hamilton, I knew that one the second I saw it. Way to accentuate the obvious featuers, and make some seriously funny images.

Awesome stuff. :yayca:

The caricatures are indeed good, and they are quit similar. Yet, I think they can get even more similar, even in that funny hilarious way. I can tell which person it is when I see the reference picture, but when I don't, I have to think a while before realizing who it is. A good caricature should make you think "Oh, it's him!!" instantly when you see the drawing. For example, in that last drawing of Julia Roberts, maybe giving her more chin / jaw would help?

You mean they are good for beginner... well IM hardly ever happy with anything I do so I totally agree with you, Im thinking that when the caricature is succesful it does not make a person merely to start grinning aaawww thats so and so person, but Im thinking about the person staring at it for a while with changing facial expressions and then eventually burst into mighty laughter because not only does the caricature looks like him but there was some funny insight or approach that the artist was able to add into it, kind of like conversing with the viewer about the "Victom" of the caricature telling something new or confirming something that really is so characteristic of that person or something like that, kind of like 3 dimentional illustration where 1. the viewer is present 2. the artist is present 3. the victom of caricature is present :D :D :teeth:

and that fifth one is Matt Damon, dont know if he has been in West Wing ? Actually cant remember currently any movie where he had been, he looks like youngish guy who would be in some teenage movies however as I was drawing him I noticed he has quite a lot of wringles, some people can still look young no matter how much wringles they have, another good example is David Hasselfhoff he is looking really fresh and vital even with all the wringles, without trying to stretch them at the back of his head :dead:

Egets, when you jump into stuff like this, you gotta disconnect your neatly wired brain a bit. The most successful of all your pieces above aren't necessarily the most accurate likenesses in a literal sense. You need to insert a big chunk of the personality the character possesses either naturally or as a character from one of their plays--Walken is just plain damn evil--he couldn't teach kindergarten with a bag over his head, for example. The others will be seen as sweet, defenseless, intense, withdrawn, visious, stupid, whatever, before people realized the eyes are maybe just a little off... Who cares? To most people, that "evil-looking little prick with the big shit-eating grin choking a bus driver" IS Jack Nicholson, no matter how accurately his nose is drawn.

It's the secret of successful cartooning. Convey emotion and image equally with minimal visual information. You're abstarcting the essence of what makes somebody somebody...

I dunno, I just think I have a rather uninteresting face, and it would be interesting to see someone try to distort it.

Good practice for egets as well. Though I think your somewhat wide nose is a distinguished enough feature to get some attention :tihi:

you actually remind me of a young matt damon pixel :teeth:
Im not the best at caricatures, but it seems to me like your last pencil sketches lacked what the first ones had. You seemed a lot more gung-ho about getting features right out front.
Anyway, good luck for when it finally happens!
And dont forget, your doing these people a service, your sharing your gift with them. /salute

Im coming soon to do your faces sorry 4 delay, anyways I wants to celebrate my actual debut in this thing rejoice with me art brethren !!!

15-16.07 (last weekend) there was River Festival in Bedford, after we had had our fun I settled down to sit in this one park chair after setting up ad that looked like this:

http://img45.imageshack.us/img45/5184/karikatyyri1ul8.jpg

Ever since I sat down I never had a single moment of idle moment, ppl were like fighting to get their portraits done, Im serious, I was asking for only £ 1 because I felt its a proper price for somebody who has never done this before (giggles nervously)

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/4066/karikatyyri2qb7.jpg

Honestly speaking my hands were shaking at first because I was not expectin somebody to jump into that chair immediately but things happen fast in here in Britain ppl dont have time to wait so they are go getters, lol !

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/2602/karikatyyri4by4.jpg

Being a finn I m used to seeing ppl with quite similar looking facial features so it was a great pleasure for me to see the variety of material to work on, later comes my favourite I will tell you about it, however the most eager ppl were parents pushing there children, Im thinking that could be my market go visit childrens parties and events, but lets see how things start rolling (I have no doubt they wont be rolling)

I decided at one point that even that I have these caricatures of celebrities with extreme looks I will always try to make women look more beautiful not to exaggarate their features that will not be to their favour so I could see that everybody were happy at the end, I never saw even one single unhappy customer, the most usual comment was - yes I can see you there- like I like to say myself "Im good" lol !

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/3852/karikatyyri5qn4.jpg

Im going to really surprise myself and post this pic of me which I absolutely recent because Im struggling with my weight, I just cant beleive how fat I actually look like in this one, God I need help with my everlasting battle with food, Im no poshspice for sure

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/4262/karikatyyri6zx2.jpg

Here Im very consentrated trying to keep my breasts from popping out of my shirt

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/5852/karikatyyri7km0.jpg

Another model

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/4264/karikatyyri3rc3.jpg

Behind here you can see the dreamworks simulation machine where we went for a ride, it was really fun and cool. In the middle you can see very decoratively dressed woman, probably from india, she had wonderful features to draw, huge greece nose while very slim small figure othervice, her eyes were GIGANTIC I loved drawing her the most, too bad I cant show any of the works now
However I made her look beautiful while I had to make it caricatures because my fingers were itching she was happy with it totally :D

http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/1847/karikatyyri8wp6.jpg

From this picture you can see how long ppl were ready to cue for beeing my next victom, some of them totally waited for about 30 minutes or then went away and then came back to see , like I said I never had an idle moment, It was a great success and I feel very confident about this thing working out, however Im now little nervour thinking weather it was the spell of the River Festival working but if I went there alone on the street how will ppl respond to it ? Will they be as enthusiastic ?We shall see then !!!
