Hey everyone. First off, all the work on this site is awesome. I have seen some incredible stuff, because of that I am a little timid about posting my work; but I want to get better... and along with the great work I have seen I have also seen some great C&C. Comments & Critiques are an amazing tool in progressing artistically. I welcome and encourage C&C on my stuff and am looking forward to everyone’s input.

Well, here is my first post ever…

Thank you. And as for your own skills, simply keep on practicing... I am always working on getting better. I know there are many things I need to improve on and can improve on. We can only get better. So don't talk down or look down on your own work. Simply look at what you can do better and work on that. Like I said... practice, practice, practice...

Yeah well I'm not the biggest fan of drawing either, but digital art doesn't bother me like drawing does. Maybe if I had a tablet lol..

With tablets you can color right? Not just draw..

Volles Metall

That's right, you can color. Tablets are basically a pen version of your mouse, so you have a ton more control.

Welp... I am off to bed... I will post some more of my stuff tomorrow. Night all. Keep those pens and pencils moving.

Lookin' forward to some C&C.

Yeah I guess I'm not so bad of a photoshopper considering I usually draw with my mouse as well as color with it.. Lol I gotta buy myself a tablet, too bad I don't have a job.

Well I think I'm gonna stop posting, its spamming your topic, and your artwork is too good for that.. lol

Lol, Don't worry about it man. Thanks for your compliments. I decided to post an old charcoal pieces I did for one of my classes before I hit the hay. It's not done, but I don't think I will ever get back to it. Anyways, it's a master copy of... wow, I suck... I forgot the guys name. The guy was an awesome asian artist. Oh well. My piece is not nearly as detailed as the masterpiece we were supposed to copy in class. Time to really go to bed now. Tomorrow I will throw up some of my own concepts again.

Oh shit I know who he is, but the name isn't rolling off my tongue, nor my keyboard. That's pretty darn fantastic for a charcoal piece. I think it looks great unfinished, there's no shame in unfinished work, everyone has it, some get paid shitloads for it.. lol. I can see your future.

Here is a pencil rendering I did... I didn't like the helmet I had for the character, so I chopped it off in photoshop... I am workin' on some new versions of the Head/Helmet. I will repost it with the head added on once I decide what it will look like. Oh, the drawing is the front view for an ortho sheet of this character.

Done with a crappy #2 pencil. WIP. C&C welcome.

Wow... school is taking up all of my art time... I have yet to finish the head for the character on my previous post. It should be up soon tho. C&C would be much appriciated.

Found another charcoal drawing I did tho. It's kinda old. but thought it'd be fun to share. Old people are very fun to draw.

Decided to post the quickie self portrait I did for my avatar. I started out with a fast sketch, looking in mirror all silly like. Then I blocked in some colors and refined a bit. Finally I cleaned it up some. I didn’t worry about making it super neat or crisp because I only did it for the avatar which as we all know is a very small image.

Done in Photoshop. During a night of art induced insomnia... I know you all know what I am talking about.

im in love with your style. that kind of rounded feel to everything. the set of armor is good too. if you could ever get the chance, would you mind critiqueing a set of mine? your well based in what im trying to do, so maybe you can help me out. im trying out drawing a set of armor, but seeing as how its my first time, there are some imperfections. http://www.conceptart.org/forums/showthread.php?t=67735

Paul- Thanks for the compliments. :teeth:

Aluchan- I am just about to head of to school in a few minutes... so I will give your work a look and C&C once I have my first break from class.

Glyph- Thank you as well for your kind words.

You guys are great. Keep throwing your work up too so I can be inspired and aid/encourage too. I think I will have a head for the headless guy today. I have somethin' I like.

Not too much to crit so but I want to make a few comments.

I enjoy your attention to surface detail quite a bit. The headless character is a wonderful example of this and I am looking forward to seeing your concepts for his helm. If I were to nitpick at his design I would say the shapes from the knee down don't do too much for me as they are too round and plain in comparison to the upper portion. Like I said this is a nit-pick so feel free to disregard.

Your handling of charcoal is quite awesome as well, I'm on break from life drawing right now and I despise charcoal. The teacher makes me use it and It gives me the heebie Jeebies. So yeah I admire your work.

Thanks for the "nit-picking" cass. I agree with you... I just got lazy and decided to go simple to get it over with. Lol. I too hate charcoal... Heebie jeebies indeed. I will never work with it again if I can help it. :P

Yes I was noting that too in the top pic, the orange globulars specifically.

Charcoal always did that for me, to... made my skin crawl, like someone running their fingers down a chalkboard...

I was looking through your stuff and I noticed you have the same quirk, issue, or style of someone I know at school. He does a lot of sci-fi and bio-mechanical concept work but it always seems a bit stiff and his forms tend to be too round or redudant. All the armor as an unintenional "shellic" feel to it.

But you are definitely working with some talent behind your pen. I'd love to see you add in some more of that great sense of form that you show in your face studies. I think your concepts are great but some of the shapes need to mature a bit from the semi-generic form they are in now.

And I say this only in hopes of helping man, keep up the goodness.

Thanks Rushwolf. Your comments are taken to heart and much appreciated. I agree with you 100% on my shortcomings. I will work on all of that.

Thanks. I just started on doing the black and white shaded version, I will add color to that one once it is shaded.
