Ultima Bear... ?

A concept for the main character of a new movie I'm trying to do:

I think I need some help with the lighting in this one. I worked on it for about an hour and just couldn't get it the way I wanted.

first.... give it a backround.... then establish which direction you want the light source to come from. another thing i noticed is that the perspective and anatomy is off.... whether your going for a human figure or sticking with the animals figure. i can't tell if the two lumps are the feet or the tops of the thighs.... as the figure goes down the values should start to darken as well... that will give it depth.

you would also have a much more convincing concept if you used a reference. im assuming you want a scary bear.... but i get a teddy bear...
