Hey there, you see I'm doing a high school project that will include patterns of symbols. does anyone know any websites that has reference to symbols?, everybody else is doing the obvious ones (communism, swastika).

Do these symbols have to be pattern based or can they be more just symbols in their own right?

To go on the communism theme, but to use something that your classmates probably won't, there's the RAF, or Die Rote Armee Fraktion.

I don't have any websites, sorry, but going on the name of the thread and what you're asking for have you tried dabbling in eagles at all?
Eagles are basically the ultimate symbol of power, have been for the past few thousand years.
Roman
Hapsburg (I think that's the two headed eagle at least)
Nazi Germany
The US.

Eagles may not seem like much of a pattern but the Hapsburg eagle is a lovely symmetrical little invention.

Hope I've been of some help, good luck with the project.

Thanks, yes I did try use some eagles (US navy symbol ) through it is quite difficult to draw animals as they are quite detailed and these symbols have to be quite small.(what this project is suppose to look like is it has tanks and soldiers in the fore-ground with many symbols & landscapes/battlescenes in the background.
