Finally I decided to open my own Sketchbook thread,
first i was a little bit shy but I think some critics can help me improve my "skills" :teeth:
Normally I do some 3d work, 2d is something I never really practiced so it's time to do that right now :teeth:
Just grabbed my wacom today ( I never really used it before ) and tried to become familiar with it.
Just my first sketches, I know I'm bad but I really try to improve my skills.
These few sketches were created today, just some scribbles and stuff,
check it out yourself :teeth:
First try with the wacom

just another scribble

I tried to create something like a marine helmet, strange :P
http://www.nfekt-software.com/trooper3.jpg
Another try just to get rid of these fat black lines, adding some contrast with the colors itself.. I need to add more detail :^^:

c&c would be great :D

Hey Tongo! Welcome to CA :)
The first step to perfection, is to registrate on CA and create a Sketchbookthread. You finished this Quest with success ;)
1.To learn the basics, you cant draw enough from reallife. Use a anatomybook and references.
2.The more you post, the more we can criticize .
3. for good colourtransitions with painter, use the tool Blender- just add water! Very kewl Tool ;D

Good start, dont forget to keep a traditional sketchbook as well, goes a long way in improving your digital work. Take it with you and keep doing life studies and drawing wherever you go. A stable base in 2D can only serve to reinforce 3d work.
Keep posting!

I've just discovered that I forgot to post 2 pictures, just some scribbles but anyway :D some critics please, tell me what I could improve =)
And an ugly guy drawn from mind ( I don't know if it's grammatically right, I'm from germany =) )

Good start. Learn the basics:
- Proportions: Draw a lot from life, from photos and most of all: draw a lot
- Anatomy: look for some loomis/hogarth books
I will check your sketchbook from time to time. :)

Hi dude. As had bin said previous. Drop the digital, and pick up an actual SB and study, study, study! You'll find that after a long time with pencil, your digital will automatically improve, in terms of how you use value. But keep at it ;)

First, thanks for you critics, I've buyed a book about anatomy and stuff, didn't had the time to work with it yet.
But finally I got some time for some new drawings.
As Kian told me, I took his advice and dropped the digital stuff first :)
I began to draw some characters for my pen and paper group ( look here if you dont know what pen and paper is ) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabletop_role-playing_game) ;)
So I used this picture as a reference:
http://www.nfekt-software.com/char.jpg
I took some ideas from the core Rulebook to get the style and
began drawing this guy, it's a kind of corsair / adventurer:
http://www.nfekt-software.com/wui.jpg
continued with this weapon,
http://www.nfekt-software.com/waffe.jpg
and ended up with this mage
http://www.nfekt-software.com/wui2.jpg
would be nice if you could give me some critics about it ! :)
by the way: I'm searching for some digital colouring tutorials I just didnt know where to begin when I tried it, I hope you know some :)

Hey, thanks for your posts :)
It's getting more and more fun to post here ;)
I followed Diles advice and drew some color onto the mage,
just quick and dirty, I'm tired for now and will improve it tomorrow.
I'll try to improve the hands later and thanks for the critics and advices !
so here it is:

Well it sure looks better and better with every new post, keep going :)
The thing that you need to improve is your line work, on your sketches all the lines are same ticknes, put heavy lines only on a placesthat are important, that are under shadow etc... hope this will help

Hey, thanks for the critics, the lines are a big problem, I need to practice that alot :)
so I decided to draw and post some work almost every day,
I hope I can keep on that.
So here's todays work,
in the earlier drawings I used that reference, printed it out and drew on it to get the proportions right.
So now I try to improve my proportions (another thing is perspective but I come to that later)
I drew that character again on myself and compared them, man there's alot of work to do for me, but anyway it's great fun :D
please give me some advices how to improve, (or someone of you know some good tutorials on proportions and/or perspective o,O ?)
so here we go:
the thing itself:

and the comparison.. looks weird

thanks for visiting my sketchbook and thanks alot for your help !

Nice! But a good advice is too do small thumbs, quick characters!
plus doing studies on etc arms, after doing a studie ( long time one 40 minutes to maybe 2 hours) by studie It can as well being ONE piece, or ALOT of pieces were you havent spend so much time each, but were you get an idea of how et c the arm really is looking (back to After doing a studie) you should
do those quick thumbnail characters, and you'll see that you got it better!.. However keep it up! :)
Join an SSG for extra advice and feedback :)

Hey doode :}
Try to avoid obvious logical faults. Consider wether the mechanical stuff make sence especially if its obvious like this. How the Robot walk? Try to imagine the human muscles. Some components are missing if you eye the knie. How he should bend or strechts his legs?
I am looking foreward to see this guy in action ;)
