This is my 1st try at this type of detailed art form, matte painting. This was done in about 2 hours, but I still have to work on the snow to make it look more solid and less "cottony". Comments welcome.
Trivia:this is one of the houses in the film American Beauty.
Looking for any pics of a house I stumbled on this one-go figure! http://photoshoptechniques.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3740

i would really get alot of erference of snowy scenes to see how snow restes on things
the tree is completely coverd--but in reality youd still probably be able to see teh under side of teh branches--because the snow would only rest on the top parts
its all a little too blurry--
hop that helps--ty
also--look at center of the house---see teh light variations?? thats becasue origninal was taken in sunlight with tree leaves/limbs creating the light and shadows--but in your piece the sky is cloudy--no sun---soooo.............
why did you crop it--why didnt you do the entire house??

Hey :)
Nice job, I love that building and the wood panelling, and the reflections in the windows. Nicely done.
Just one crit: The snow looks kind of "cottonish". It's like it is hovering above the ground. Snow is quite heavy, and I think the snow here needs to be more defined, to give it that heavy look. If I can I'll upload an image of my house covered in snow for you :D
But.. woo, how did you make that wood panelling?
