Hello all. Have been browsing these forums for quite a while now and was itching to post some of my work, so here i am. Not sure if these are worthy enough to be in the finished section so i'll just put them here to be safe :teeth:
Anyway, here are 2 pencil drawings; the first being a self portrait and the second, a portrait of my lil'bro. Please be nice as i am only a beginner... but crits are more than welcome :P.

Second picture is damn good, the contrasts with the white work well.
Are they both from photo?
The first one has far less contrast, so form gets lost in the white of the paper. I'd practice reserving the white of the paper for the brightest highlights, still doing light pencil in the midtones, as well as adding value to the background to give more contrast and make the white appear to be brighter. Second one didnt need it as much as its already from a high contrast picture, but the first one ends up flat.
Good work so far, hope you post more!
