This one started as a dsg from earlier in the week, but i decided to just keep going with it. I plan on doing more with this, so I will post updates here. Prismacolor 10% and 30% grey markers, and a copic pigment liner.

Nice design, tomczek. I love how collossal the creature is..so huge. The metal rendering is super well-done, too. Tusks are looking very good, and the cannon/helmet design work really well. I'd like to see some more creature designs from you in the future...
Post more marker work soon, bud. :)

Hmm.. The legs are too long for my tastes, nice work though!

What's up Matt. That's sweet man, looking forward to updates. I guess my two crits would be I'm not sure how he would bend his front leg with that metal brace around his knee, and the smoke stuff coming out the back of the cannon. Looking good though. You gonna paint it?

mtomczek-

Great work! Can you tell me please, your process? Did you draw that first, and then scan it in? If so, did you ink it? I am very interested in your process...

Thanks alot.

dyoung, its actually all grey prismacolor marker, and a black pen/marker. I sketch out the form with a 10% grey marker, and start to block in shapes, and areas, not worrying about much at all at this point. Once i get things i like, i start defining them more, and working in areas of value, adding details slowly. Once i get it sketched out and I like what i see, I go in with my black razor point marker, or my copic pigment liner, and "ink" the piece, adding all the little details, lines, etc. paying attention to line weight, heavier on dark sides, lighter on light sides. I then go in with a 30% grey marker and began to develop value, adding shadows etc., defining the form more. Once all the marker work is done, i go in with a white colored pencil and add highlights, and then using pro-white, i add the strongest highlights. My scanner is broke right now, so I set up the drawing and take a photo with my digital camera when I am done. Thats pretty much it. Next drawing I will take process shots for you.

Alright I went back and changed some things, and heres the new version. Added a soft material to the back of the knee pad so he can bend his front leg. Changed the gun a bit etc.
