In the "It's finally finished" thread, there was this big thing under JEDI CHIX about the subject matter, ie, darn, another jedi chix!

Well, this is my answer to the entire thread :p so maybe you'll have something else to bitch ab^H^H^H^H discuss for a while :D

I'll start the painting one of these days, but I want to finish a few other pieces first (the Orc Captain under the "painting help" thread for instance, and others).

http://www.tegehel.org/graphics/newfolio/web/twilek-twildo.jpg

Anywhoo, this is just the preliminary sketch. There are still some areas that need work and plenty of things missing, but it will be fixed during the painting process.

This is Yoda's head study, which I decided to crop to death, as you see. I like it better cropped that way, makes the pix funnier.

http://www.tegehel.org/graphics/newfolio/web/twilek_sk0_yoda.jpg

This is the bust and hairdo study (originally, it was going to be a human, but I thought that for this particular subject, a Twilek would be more appropriate).

http://www.tegehel.org/graphics/newfolio/web/twilek_sk2.jpg

This is the sketch that started it all. Note on the side a doodle of another idea for another jedi parody that will come later.

See you soon with colors! Ooh colors! Feel free to bit...discuss ;)

I hate to be the immature idiot that has to point this out.. ehehmmm here goes:

That thing she's holding looks like a vibrator (Please don't hate me). If it is a vibrator, that's cool with me.. I mean Star Wars girls get lonely like other people :)

anyway good stuff.. and don't worry, I liked the jedi chick that everyone was bashing. But I like this more.

Look forward to seeing the process go on.

ROCK ON! Yet another artist who rendered this subject so creatively! Great job man! You rock! :nana
That thing does kind of look like a vibrator, don't hate me for saying it! It's too cool! :3

>That thing does kind of look like a vibrator

Then, my job's done :) (hence the title, you know?)

But, wait till the colors kick in, it'll make more "sense".

Ok, I got it after reading the title again :)

Hi again, this is the first color pass. No details yet, just the mood, and stuff. More later. Now, I'm gonna work on my Orc Captain for awhile.

 That's great.

The colored rendering is awesome, but the lightdildo is a bit unclear.

tegehel
May 11th, 2003, 12:29 AM
Payback, hopefully it'll be cleared in the final pix, but it'll be as "clear" as a lightsaber is. Based on the movie, it's a white tube with a colored halo (red or blue or green). The center is also vaguely colored (in certain shots anyway). I will use movie shots as reference.

In the meantime, this is the next stage (and I realize that I'm going waaaaaay too slow. I think I spend too much time in details that, when the pix's resized, are just not visible anymore...waste of time, not good).

Here, I superimposed the pencil again, just to see what details are left to do. It will be gone in the final.

PS: what a bizarre subject. I don't know what I was thinking...

I've already changed it quite a bit (I'll post it later), but what parts don't you like and why? please let me know so I can think about it and make the necessary changes.

Thanks,

God, that's a classic. Yoda the Jedi Master Perv! I'm thinking this ranks up there with the infamous Ken Starr / Star Wars poster spoof.

really well done.

but still I have some crits.

her left arm is a bit off.
the elbow area looks like the same problem you have
when you bend 3d models. it doesnt flesh out.

next crit i visualized. hope you dont mind.

http://www.redrival.com/Peter82/forum/andras/bluebabe2.jpg

the armpit. I made it rounder, since her breast muscle
runs from her breast to the armpit it makes a rounder
shape in this area.

the skirt (lets call it that ;) )
i thought it was too low on her hip. if she stands
normal with the skirt that low it will fall down. so I
placed it a bit higher. (there still is a chance it will
fall off, but I think Yoda wont mind ;) )

the face is beautiful, my favourite part of the drawing.
very nice shading and color work here. very well done!

I hope you dont take offence of my crits. I do like the
drawing a lot.
:chug:

Thank you very much.

No offense AT ALL, that's exactly what I'm looking for. The reason I post here is to get criticism, both positive and negative, so I can improve. If negative, then I usually like to know why or what's wrong so I can think about it and fix it. The best, though, is what you do, when you visually help in addition to explain.

Now, for that armpit, I gotta find a reference to get it right. The skirt has already changed into something else in the next stage, but I'll check to make sure it doesn't fall off (or should I?) :)

Thanks.

gah skip references... paint from your head.... References will only lock you down in the end.. be freeee....;)

May 14th, 2003, 09:18 AM
wow, just checked out your website.
your really a class A artist.
how much photo ref. do you use?

and yeah, I noticed something on your site.
you dont like to draw feet, right?

I have problems with that too, even if its drawn
right it doesnt look like it sometimes.
I really need to practice on that more...

:beam:

tegehel
May 14th, 2003, 09:40 AM
But...but...

Molin: I usually do use my head as a referen...wait, that doesn't sound right. err...that's Android (self portrait of the day)

I usually paint FROM my head, except when it comes to areas that I'm either not familiar with or when it needs fixin'. The problems with humans and famous characters (respectively a woman and Yoda) is that if something's wrong, pretty much everybody will notice it because of their familiarity with the subject matter, so to make sure I don't make things worse, I will use references. I don't trace them, though, I just use them as...well...reference :)

let me offer you this quote, which I like a lot, especially the first line, which to me says that once you really know your subject matter, you can go nuts with it, but know it inside out first:

Artists can color the sky red because they know it's blue. Those of us who aren't artists must color things the way they really are or people might think we're stupid. - Jules Feiffer

Peter: Thanks a lot. How much photo? It depends on the subject matter. When I use a human, I ususally have references, that is not necessarily one photo, but many that together might form the final picture. Mainly, I try to paint freely but sometimes, when I get stuck on something, I will research the subject and use it for either reference, or inspiration. I think, though, that I always have SOME sort of reference around me when I draw or paint something. Sometimes just for inspiration, sometimes, to check shadows, etc...

Molin
May 14th, 2003, 09:59 AM
hehe thats a nice quote. Allthough not always true because you can be colorblind....:DD

tegehel
May 16th, 2003, 10:59 AM
Peter: I don't draw feet? Well, that's funny you should mention that. I personally have no problem with feet, but I guess I just don't do them that often for a reason or another. Frank Frazetta was "accused" of doing the same thing. Out of all artists, I'm sure HE knows how to draw feet. I think it's more of a design decision, or just that the picture doesn't need to have details there. In my case, I never thought about it that much :) Maybe I should, huh?

Hi there,

Here's the revised version #3.

Feedback please. Get picky, because I want to finish this one soon (don't worry, I have inches of steel skin).

I would say this one's 95% done, unless you guys find something particularly wrong with it.

to do:
. colors and saturation issues
. details missing
. writing on the wall

Thankiouuuu.

Hahaha, that last one is funny as shit! :D

The leash is hilarious. I like the upside-down rebelsign necklace as well. Simply brilliant. :thumb:

Kortez
May 17th, 2003, 08:28 PM
LOL! love the leash :)

but why did you have to put a bra on her, I was hoping this would start like a trend :) no, just fooling around, the way the light reflects of the bra rocks!

excellent, and I'm looking forward to that last 5% :blue:

Looking good. One picky crit I have is you still need to define the vibrator/sabre thing a little better. You need more contrast between the actual beam and the halo just to define the shape of it better (afterall it is the focus is it not?).

Ostrander
May 19th, 2003, 02:34 PM
nice job! I think the subject matter is hysterical. I think you did a very good job with rendering the characters as well as the lighting. However, I'm not sure if its just me or what, but the arm/hand that is resting on her hip, doesnt look right to me. I'm not sure if its the drawing itself or the way that it is lit and how you have the shadow on it. To me it seems to make the arm look as if it is coming towards the viewer. It makes it look unatural. Just my 2 cents. Nice work though! :p

Hey G nice shit!

hell of an idea.
But I agree with gloklund on the arm thing.

Did you use Aria Giovanni the porn star as a reference.
She looks *STRIKINGLY* similar.:D

Carnifex
May 19th, 2003, 02:55 PM
now that u mention it it appears to me too...otherwise it's an awesome picture:D
there's just one thing that doesn't go to my mind:why the hell is the lightsaber so short?as said earlier,it really looks like a sci-fi vibrator;)sorry, that is somewhat strange.
anyway it's a great pic:cool:
i wouldn't mind to see a more "realistic" glow of that lightsaber thing tho:)

behemot5
May 19th, 2003, 03:05 PM
I think it's absolutely not a vibrator....in my opinion it's the light saber she has stolen to yoda :D

tegehel
May 19th, 2003, 03:25 PM
Sin: fooxxyy blue Yodalisque, yeah...

Payback: thanks. Someone said I was brilliant! hey! people! hey!...awww...noone's listening...:p

Kortez: well, it's not to hide nudity - trust me I have no problem showing nipples - I just wanted to have some cool leather on her. It's true that the first sketch where she's naked has a certain appeal to it.

Groady: thanks. will do that a bit more. I don't want it to be really obvious, I want people to look at the pix, then look at the 'saber and think "wtf?", ya know? :)

Glokund: I see your point. I will work on that too. thanks.

Kadza: nope, it's my mom...:P LOL . Nah, she's made of a multitude of other people and poses. Nothing's real in this one, not even the boobs (silicon!)

Carniflex: well, it's a vibrator to some, a mini-lightsaber to others (look at behemoth's theory :)). Anyway, as long as she has fun with it, you know?

Behemot: could be, could be .... :)

Will be posting the new revised 5% version soon...

The entire picture's somehow sexually oriented, so if you see a vibrator, that's okay.

It is supposed to be a lightrator™ :)

Thanks guys,

You should check the final version in the "it's finally finished" forum, under the name "Yodalisque". It's slightly better and is the final version.
