For those of you in the Baltimore area, the UMBC Game Developer's Club is hosting a free "Digital Entertainment Conference" on April 29th. Heres the list of speakers:
Sid Meier - Founder of MicroProse and Founder/Creative Director of Firaxis Games
Barry Caudill - Executive Producer, Firaxis Games
Dan Magaha - Producer, Firaxis Games
Seth Spalding - Art Director, Firaxis Games
Katie Hirsh - Artist/Programmer, Breakaway Games
Ryan McFall - Programmer, Day1 Studios
Most will be speaking from 2-5 but there is a portfolio workshop with Seth Spalding in the morning from 11:00 - 11:45. The whole event should be very up close and personal.
Our goal with this is to help those interested in breaking into the game industry (especially students). Its free and open to everyone so bring all your game dev buddies. Here's the site with more info:
