The rendering and texturing look great. Very cool. To push it further I would concentrate on anatomy and the drawing. Arachnids have a jointed exoskeleton. I know this is a fictional piece, but some of the joints are not consistent. A consistent anatomy to the hindlegs would improve this piece greatly. The ones that don't follow natural anatomy have a rubbery feel, the four hind legs all look different on the section attached to the body.

damn nice concept I like the colouring a lot and the texture in the bg is great, the only thing I can see that migh improve it is to soften up the top of the front left claw and bring the fleshy bit over the top like the otherone, it jumps out at you too much and is a bit off putting, and I'm not 100% on whether it's got an exoskeleton or an endoskeleton but it's your call, it looks endo at the moment but shiny.

Hi,
Very cool. Why not making the surface a bit rougher. And some slime would help too.
Just a thought.

How cool colours !!! inventive, Im arachnophobic myself but this one dont appear to be scary, maybe its the colours and softnes and not so intimidating pose, well would not like to see this in real life anyways

Great textures! I'm not sure if the fuzzies really contribute to the intimidating nature of the spider/wasp, though.

Don't really like the spiked back, but the transparent venom is cool..
Keep doing you

blue severin --> that's what happens when you're too lazy to use reference :bashful: thanks a lot for the crits and the compliment!
young padawan--> the texture in the bg was done seperately with marker ink, then added in photoshop. thanks for the feedback, i sometimes ( manytimes?...:bashful: ) get impatient and rush some areas.
chupacabra--> i considered the the slime too, but didn't work for me so i left it as it is. honestly i could not manage to achieve a decent effect :bashful: thanks!
egets--> many thanx! many kinds of bugs give me the creeps too, but drawing them is quite fun :)
halos chain--> thanks a lot!
guesseppe--> thanks :)
sara-san--> i didn't know about that, but i know bright colors are usually mean poisonousness (is there such a word?), so i tried to use that knowledge. thanks :)
vulgar--> will do :) thanx. as i said to paddy1. that was one of the rushed areas :bashful:
