This topic has the potential to be either ultra Sir-David-Attenborough-esque or ultra-sexy. Or both.
Or maybe my mind is gutter'ed this morning. brb

2142: The Intrusanet Corp. is rapidly advancing in the field of genetic engineering. Hybrid cultures of Nantra-7 are succesfully hatched in the Hex-chambers before they become available as biomechanical working power for the terraforming project on Stigma C-24, the infamous “Poky Planet”. Combining recent ‘Alperon’ technology with traditional cloning techniques one of these hybrids developes a multitude of manpower. Chances are that Nantra-7 will also function as prison wards.

Wow Hideyoshi, talk about quick! This isn't really what I pictured as a breeding ground (then again I'm not absolutely positive what it is) but I like it, good work.

Hideyoshi, awesome entry, but do you want it taken to poll? You have to have a description this round or RedRook's gonna get fussy ;)

April 20th, 2006, 05:20 AM
yeah, like tech said, it is a lil far fetched so if you justify it with a description its all good, hell it doesnt even need to be a full sentence. In the meantime, come on kids lets see some competition to this fantastic entry :D

Ok...from hideyoshi's high-tech to rather low-tech:
http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h40/ojkiel/breeding3.jpg
'In 2157, as the terraforming of Mars was initiated, the first signs of life were discovered in the caves underneath Mt. Acidalia Colles.
Throughout the 23rd century, more than a hundred years later, the caves were still famous - as a great place for leisure fishing. The coveted
mercury redtail fish took to the caves every year to breed.'
I enjoyed loosening up on the colours with this one, hard but I got used to it ;)

Just off the coast of east Africa, south of the equator, a breeding laboratory has recently been founded by an anonymous bio-chemist. Construction began following a massive oil spill that was indirectly caused by a terroirst attack on an army base in Angola. The techniques of egg and whale fertalisation are unkown, but despite ethical concerns raised by certain
activists, the scientists are unquestionably dedicated to the continued preservation of marine life in the area. The animals are left to swim in any section of the ocean, but devices implanted during the clean up operation 'call' them to the mating pens when they are needed.

Hideyoshi, I love the detail you've put into it - the metal grating is a sweet touch. And it's beautifully lit.
Y-Adam, that looks promising!

It's the year 2549 and the world has just began recovering from the last world war. Because of many unnatural events a new breed of birds, the Co'caen bird's eggs have a power to heal the most severed wounds and grand visions of the future. Unfortunately, the Co'caen birds lay their eggs only in midst of the regrown amazon forests. Picking up the eggs is not a big deal at all, but the forest itself is filled with mutated beasts and dangers of the wild.
Ofcourse, anyone sane would never believe that bird egg's could grand visions of the future, but the eggs still manage to hold huge market value.

Grain Fields of 40-AD
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v320/odinsregen/sketches/EOW22.jpg
The breeders of Stedtfeld 40-AD were at all times famous for their fields of grains of all sorts. In view are the grounds covered with the rice-like Poppagi grain, that does not tolerate any umbrage or aridity. At least once in a week theres a notice about a new breed in the news.
