In the year 5000 n.ch massive alliances control the universe. To keep planetary systems in check these alliances secretly constructed giant mother ship. Inside its behemoth structure giant assembly lines continuously construct smaller vessels for control and surveillance purposes. Secrecy demands its human crew be kept to a bare minimum, a majority of on board system operations are AI controlled.

The manufacture of giant nuclear toasters is a delicate procedure. It proved to complex for robots, and to dangerous for humans. The only solution; giant, human piloted, toaster assembly mechs.

Automated space shuttle production, for public use, has been active since the later years of the 22nd century. The main assembly line is regulated by an outsourced inspection agency hired by the manufacturers. The record number of fully functioning units made in one day, so far, has been 487.

Coastal production lines like this were built on the enemy shorelines to produce war craft under their radar systems. The installations were self-installed by automated robots, and took roughly 3 days to construct. Shipped in by slow moving, cloaked submarines, if positioned correctly these installations could remain undetected for long periods of time while they ammassed a flotilla of war craft.

Rebellion forces took refuge in ruined warehouses on the outskirts of the city. Here they researched and developed weaponry for mobile militia units.

I still remember the old robot factory where my father worked, the smell of
machine oil, polished metal and the buzzing sound of robot welders.
Now the factory is closed like many others monuments of communist era
Waiting to be sold as scrap metal by the pound together with my all childhood memories.

Voted for Min. What can I say. Superb finishes. Even if the mobilesuits and panels are cloned. Maybe you can vary the reflections a little to make them look less identical. Otherwise, it's beautiful. Yadam's and Mr. Blondes are my next choices.

Nice job everybody! Goran gets my vote for the interesting perspective and the real factory feel. yAdam's entry looks good too!

Great work guys! :teeth:
But I was hope that I find here more massive lines ( I mean like in Star Wars II, great underground factory on Genosis, because that is what I called massive line) , pitty.

1st:I voted for yAdam, I think that he best interpreted subject, because he has really massive line. And I like it a lot.

2nd was bumskee: great work! I like it, best style and render from these works, but it´s hard to explore that this is massive line. It looks to me more like stock or hangar.
Anyway good work.

and 3rd place for me is michamachtlos: I like it. Yeah, it is a bit strange line, but it is massive with great atmosphere.

I thought: "Bumskee for sure!" at first...
...but then I see Mr. Blonde's which is just too wicked!
So cool! The colors, lighting, values and mood are phenomenal!
ohjay, yadam, form and goran: outstanding!

A hard choice, eventually went with Mr. Blonde for the sheer vertigo inducing scale. But the smoke and shiny metal of Bumskees was a close second.

Thanks for the nice words, what a round, not many entries but all superb! :)

Hard choice, but ended up with Mr Blonde, nice mood, depth and really nailed the "massive"-ness.

nice work everyone, adam conveyed the greatest sense of size to me although i would have liked to have seen more details.

oops, I switched my hosting and forgot about putting my image back up. :tihi:

Great round everyone. Gave my vote to MrBlonde - great mood, sense of scale, and texturing. My crit is that the middle ground feels a bit too sketchy, perhaps could use another pass to fix some perspective issues.

I voted for ohjay beocuse of the great mood and atmosphere in the picture. The colos and angly contributet greatly to that, as did the "description"

I voted for Mr.Blonde. It really brought me into the peice and makes me feel like it's a real place.

Voted for Mr. Blonde. It feels like it's massive. Some of the other concepts are small vignettes of a bigger building to show detailed factory parts, but I was impressed how Blonde was able to get a factory feel with virtually no familiar factory elements (the moving arms, etc.). At that massive scale, those kind of elements would be miniscule compared to its surroundings... very cool.

yAdam was second... excellent in getting the massive quality into it.

bumskee was third... my monitor may be too dark... but the image is kinda hard to see? I love the atmosphere and mood though.

gotta give the love to min on this one! but also must add that there was some stellar work here and i found elements i really thought 'hot damn!' on each entry. bravo!!
cheers,

Thanks for the kind words and votes!!!

I went for bumskee..Even though it didnt look the most massive, there definately seems like there could be more there, and it looks quality too.

Really like the concept of Form's and mr.blonde's as well...

Ohjay- nice feeling and Painting, seems a little unfinished though

Michamachtlos- this is shiny and futureistic but seems a little blurred and random

Brand X charming Idea and well carried out. Fururistic and grungy, besides it made me laugh.. got my vote

yAdam nicely done gritty and industrial beautiful atmosphere

Form—nice tempest-y scene.. but Im not seeing Massive production line here, looks abandoned

Bumskee… shiny. But it looks like a storage facility. The speculars are nifty though

Mr Blonde –very factory, has a marvelous feeling of industrial revolution grit.. I don’t actually see any production line though..maybe its just me

Goran this is really cool. But it feels more “sweat shop” than production line.. perhaps a large innovation lab// or mechanics shop..probably oil on the floor

Nice entries all around

Torn between Bumskee, Goran and Mr.Blonde, but had to give it to Mr. Blonde in the end. Great execution, very atmospheric.

Mr Blonde had an awesome piece with the atmosphere and the massiveness, but Bumskee's vision was closer to what I was thinking. So with that said, my vote goes to bumskee.

Great round, everyone had top notch concepts. I had to go with Mr. Blonde...for me it expressed the idea of "massive" very successfully, and the atmosphere imparted a tremendous sensation of depth.

Voted goran, while bumskee and yAdam's stuff is excellent too, goran's robots do indeed do stuff. I mean there is pretty much no point in gate robots that don't place anything anywhere or.. yeah :p my first year ind. engineering studies do sort of get to me at times :)
