Hello everybody, it has been almost a year or more since my last post on this website, I've never started my own sketchbook before, and was thinking maybe begining one of these would help me sketch and paint more often. I have a few recent works that I completed that I thought I would share.
I'm not sure how often I will be updating, but I hope it will be good. All comments are welcome. Thanks.

This is based loosly off the window in my room, except my walls are alot smoother and cleaner, I was experimenting with new tools on Painter 9 and enjoyed the texture this created. Let me know what you think.

Another post. I just remembers this 45 minute painting of a Bear I done for a fellow co-worker on saturday. I am pretty pleased with the final outcome..but I am still lost on how people get such awesome detail and colors in there paintings, something I am trying to grasp.
Here is the initial sketch.

What you have now looks nice, tt just doesn't look finished. There really needs to be a background in this one.

It also looks like it should be interacting with something, instead of swinging its arm around.

I totally agree with it needing a background. I believe I messed up though, because I still get confused with working in layers, and when I try adding something behind the bear it all gets screwy..I believe I painted the bear on the background layer, thus a background at this point is a dreadful nightmare..I should probably study up on the basic uses of layers, and how to initially set up a work area in Painter 9..regarding layers and where the sketch should be and where the color should come in..all that jazz.

i also agree it looks nice, good lightning. It would be intresting in seeing some pencils. It may give a better impression for us to see what needs to be worked on.

I like the color scheme of the first thing you posted, the composition is a bit strange and the way the field suddenly ends at the bottom.

Hi everybody, got home from work, ate supper, and jumped right into Painter 9. Tried that background texture again, and started on this demon character.

Hey everybody, I know its been forever, wether anybody else has ha, but I I have a new piece to add. I was asked by a friend at work to try and draw a tattoo of a Koi Fish for him, not sure if he is actually going to use this yet, but I enjoyed drawing and painting this none the less. Tell me what you think.
