Somethings wrong with her eyes but I'm not sure what.

It's a rough painting but I wanted some feedback on the overall technique (which I know is amatuer but I am just learning) and what you thought of the face.

You're not sure because it's not her eyes that are the root of the problem; it's the right side of her face (left on the image).

Her cheek bone comes up way too high and out to the left way too far. You should lower it and wrap it around a bit in 3D. This will lower the corner of her eye as a result and fix the problem you are perceiving.

As for other comments, I think it looks pretty good over all. I have a major problem, however, with the part of her face that surrounds her nose. It's too dark and the colors change too sharply; needs more blending and a bit of highlight (otherwise it looks like she's been crying with mascara on or something).

Thanks for the comments.

Here is a revised version based on your notes.

The notes really improved it a lot I think. I also just finished it out a little more.

Your diagnosis that the eyes are wrong is correct. They are way too wide (in both versions). In most faces, an eye is one fifth the width of the face, not the one-third in your painting.

Yep, I know it doesn't look much like the original (angle) but I was just using it as a guide for the rough painting.
