Hi,

Since you have Painter IX, I don't know of a good reason why you'd need Painter 6. If you feel you do need it anyway, all I can suggest is that you try to find Painter 6 at eBay and be careful to get a full, legal, registerable software package.

Or, better yet...

Since you have Painter IX and it has everything... and more.. in the way of brushes that you had in Painter 6, just use it instead.

In addition to the default Painter Brushes library installed with Painter IX, there are many other brush libraries on the Painter IX CD.

Warning:

If you want to use the Painter 6 Water Color variants and have them work as they did in Painter 6, don't copy the Painter 6 Water Color library from the Painter IX CD to your hard drive. If you use that brush library, the Water Color variants will work like the Painter 7, Painter 8, and Painter IX Watercolor variants, using the new brush technology introduced in Painter 7.

Instead:

All of the Painter 6 Water Color variants are represented in the Painter IX Digital Watercolor brush category and they work the same as (or better than) the Painter 6 Water Color variants did in Painter 6.

Do you still have your original serials? If you lost them I guess the only legal way would be to get new copies of the software.
