Hi guys, amazing forum, thought this would be the place to ask for some advice.

I make small figures out of super sculpey and wanted to cast them. I thought a silicon mould would be the way to go, but im stuck on what to use to cast them with. I have had friends use resin, and that was good, but really pricey.

Any alternatives that would yeild a similar results to resin?

If you're going to spend the dough for silicone, you might as well go for resin. There are different types with different price ranges. Depending on what you are casting up, you should choose the resin that's best for the finished work.

What size are you working with?

check out smooth-on.com they have sample sizes of all their resigns for about $25 bucks. I've used their materials for a few years now and the stuff is great. http://www.alumilite.com/line.cfm have a sample kit that comes with every think to make small castings. Smooth-on has a sample kit as well http://www.smooth-on.com/Getting%20Started.asp

hope this helps.

I had some 2 part epoxys that are sold as glues in mind...but then I realised it makes more sense to buy the real stuff (resin) that fool about with little tubes of that gunk, and it would probly end up cheaper in the long run.

Cheers for your help!
