How do, everyone?

First post so I'm not sure if I'm in the right place

Below is my B&W drawing of Balrog from the Street Fighter series. Right now I'm kinda dabbling with it in Photoshop, however my experience with PS, and working in digital colour, is extremely low :frustrated: so any advice, tricks, techniques, etc. would be a big help.

All crits on the pencils welcome. Cheers.

PS. If anyone fancies trying out some colour on it themselves, you're more than welcome; I'd love to see others' ideas/takes on it.

Yeah, I just read the FAQ and realised I was doing it wrong.

Should be working now, cheers.

Hi and Welcome to CA

nice sketch
but:
the muscles of the upper arm look weird, like if they interleave (esp the rightmost)
the hand holding the cigar looks too big

I like the face very much

Interesting but yea, the hand with the cigar is too big, it should be smaller than the one closer to us. even though its styelzed, you can use the head for reff. It should be aproximatley the size of the face, chin to hairline when open.
Keep us updated!

Tim

Okay, gave it a try. Looks like I lost the sharpness though -- like I say I'm new to the whole Photoshop thing.

Any tips? Help!!

basically what really pops out is his arm muscles.
the muscle below the bicep, it looks like its got another fold/moscle over it before it starts, ditch that and bring the bicep down. and the triceps should fade out ABOVE that muscle

Yea the deltoid would actually be covering the bicep. Bicep goes in under armpit. You also seem to have added a few muscles! or is that his ribcage?

If you wanna retain the sharpness, I'd say best way is to rub it out and redraw that hand. Depend on the way you're gonna color it, differing sharpness probably won't be much of a problem.

agree with Timpaatkins, deltoid goes over bicep and the tricep doesnt fold inward like that, i know it looks "cool" but if you wanna make this guy look pumped then get rid of the fold and let the muscle bulge out naturally. good job on the face indeed, its really good
