T-DOME: The Last Man Standing - FINAL ROUND

Almost 9 months after the round one of the Last Man Standing Thunderdome kicked off, 3 competitors from a remarkable cast of 144 have made it to this sixth and final round. Over the course of the thunderdome we've collectively produced hundreds of pieces of artwork, and each of these three competitors have created 5 stunning pieces to carry them where they are today.

So here we are, the last battle of the largest thunderdome to hit ca.org... Dan Milligan vs. steak-tron vs. Jason Chan. Who will be the Last Man Standing?

Open ended, interpret as you will guys. The only requirement is that your piece be f'n badass, and with you three there's sure to be nothing less than that.

Deadline:
The official deadline stands at 11:59pm PST Wednesday, May 10th, 2006.

Submissions:
My bandwidth will commit suicide if I hosted the massive amounts of images expected, so I'll have to ask that you upload your image to your own space and send me the link to your image. You can submit your entries in link form to strych9ine@gmail.com in the yournameVScompetitor'sname_TD.jpg format, with the title of your email yourname's entry. Size: Keep your images large enough so that the detail is preserved, but do your best to keep the file size down (Photoshop's Save for Web function can help quite a bit).

Keep your secret weapon secret: do not post up you WIPs or Finished Pieces before the main T-DOME threads are displayed. The best part about this is seeing all the artwork for the first time side by side, don't rob us of that chance.

Yeah, well you know what will happen when the public is given the ability to vote. Many of the votes wouldn't be cast on the merit of the individual pieces, but rather would just be a flurry of OMG OMG MY FAVORITE ARTIST VOTE VOTE VOTE!

A portion of the voting, however, that might work... maybe all those votes would count as one judge. Hmmm...

I was going to throw an extension down, but due to the nature of our new prize and out of concern that there won't be enough time for you to plan the trip, the deadline stays as it was. I'll work on getting the judging coordinated so it happens asap after the entries are handed in. Cool?

I've got some bad news.

Milligan is completely swamped down with work before E3, and he just won't be able to find time to finish his piece by the deadline. And extension won't really even help in this case. So unfortunately, he has to drop out of the final round.

So, that leaves us with two contestants and about two weeks to go. The reason I brang in people from the previous rounds to fill spots before was to make sure that there was an appropriate amount of participants in the round, so I will keep this round to a 1v1 match between steak-tron and jason chan. Cool?

Dan, sorry to see you have to bow out. Thanks for contributing some kickass artwork over the last five rounds bud...

I thought about bringing someone from the round before, but it would be hard to decide who deserves to come up "most", know what I mean? I brought people from previous rounds before so that they could fill up spots to make the matches even, but since this is the final round it doesn't necessarily need to happen. Plus, we're pretty damn close to the deadline. Can't imagine it would be fair to compete against people who've had over a month to work on their pieces with one week at your disposal. So for the final round, it's simply whoever made it this far stays in.
