This is a help wanted listing for an Independant game, so if you are looking for immediate pay for your work, read no further.

===============

Chrysalis Games is looking for a concept artist to help us build our game. The style we are looking for should be a combination of Fantasy and Sci-Fi.

A little about the project:
We are working on a Persistent Online Role Playing Game (PORPG was deliberately selected in favor of MMORPG) with focus on today's latest graphics techniques, and battle. The game will not be as sophisticated as your typical MMORPG, because the number of players in the world is only eight. Character data is persistent, but the actual game worlds are static. A comparable game would be Phantasy Star Online on the Sega Dreamcast.

A little about the team:
We are a team of five right now (1 Programmer, 1 Designer, 3 Modelers/texturers). We are currently working on what's needed to prepare a demo for prospective publishers. This means, of course, that we have no funding at the moment but we are developing with the intent to go commercial. In essence, this is a call for talented developers who want to get in on the ground level of an exciting project.

A little about what we have so far:
After about a year of planning, the game design is complete. We also have a library of rudimentary concept sketches that will need to be redone by a specialist.
We are in the midst of developing the game engine and the editor simultaneously. They are coming together very well.
We have just assembled our art team weeks ago (we wanted to have the game engine fairly far along before looking for artistic talent), so while we are getting some new art done, the new modelers have been asking for concept art more frequently.

A little about our technical achievements/plans:
We are developing the game from the ground up in C++ / DirectX 9
The graphics engine is completely driven 100% by vertex and pixel shaders (not using the Fixed Function Pipeline). The base hardware requirement is Geforce3
2000 - 3000 polygons per character.
1 - 6 texture layers (base, bump, environment, specular, glow, and detail maps) **Done
Skeletal Animation system **Done
Editable Terrain using bezier patches **Done
Particle system editor (create a vast range of psychedelic particle systems with a simple interface) **Done
Design maps with drag and drop interface ** Done
Game Scripting engine **Done
Independent Clothing/Hair ** In Progress

A little about our goals:
We are developing a demo of our game and we hope to have it done by early September. We need serious and talented artists to help us make this deadline. After completing the demo, we will begin sending our package to publishers, where we hope to receive funding to complete the rest of the development. We have officially registered as a Limited Liability Corporation.

This all the information I can give in a nutshell without flooding this board with technical and design documents, so contact me in private for more information.

Who we are looking for:
Game Artist:
Must be capable of producing the 2d graphical content for the game. (i.e. concept sketches of characters, buldings, and environments. Other 2d content may include loading screens, icons, menu options, etc)

All Candidates must be:

18 years or older.
Able to move to Maryland. At the moment we are all working from our various locations across the US, but when we acquire a publisher, we will need to relocate and work out of an office.
Must be able to work legally in the US. For those living outside of the US, you must be able to relocate to the US when the time comes.

Please send me your portfolio or samples by email because that garuntees that I will get your inquiry.
