is it an actual beauty contest that we have to draw involving twisted anatomy??

Oblio
March 26th, 2006, 07:54 AM
About deadline - i will probably makethe poll Sunday 2th April -making sure there is not Saturday nowhere on the globe :)

About the subject: It has to be a CHARACTER.

Wikipedia:
"A fictional character is any person who appears in a work of fiction. More accurately, a fictional character is the person or conscious entity we imagine to exist within the world of such a work. In addition to people, characters can be aliens, animals, gods or, occasionally, inanimate objects."

Our theme isabout "a twisted anatomy beauty".
That does NOT mean ONLY a beautyfull person/a sexy million tits alien, etc.

It is a contest becouse we will vote the most inspiring creation.
You can make it hideous- if we - voters - consider it beautyfull as a concept/art piece etc- your character will win! :)

sry - for mistakes & short phrases - typing on pocket :(

This is NOT my entry. It's old work in my portfolio I'm sharing to give people ideas. There are tons and tons of different ways muscle and anatomy can be rendered "twisted" and "believable" and "beautiful."

"Hermaphrodite Vs. Androgyne."
Consider this my final since I'm unlikly to continue it at the mo.

There is no story behind this (beyond me thinking up a snazzy title) just randomness.
I'm kinda bummed there are so few entries. I guess not many people thought this was an entertaining topic.:sadcheerleader:

well, each anatomy drawing from me would easily make it as an entry here...my anatomy is always twisted because i can't draw :)

Edward Muybridge did a lot of interesting photos with anatomy and distortion. Both in the sense of people with actual deformity and the way the motion capture photos could distort the way things looked. Francis Bacon loved his work, and Bacon was all about distortion.

This sounds like a very interesting topic. I have been out of CA for a while, things have been very hectic for me lately. Now that things are back to normal I think I'm defintily going to dive back in.

I'm really gonna twist this up, I'll take "When Fingers are Substituted for Hair" for 500 please. Eyeballs galore? Limbs gone mad? Wrap it all up in a thong and call it a day!

Hey, here is an older piece I did, not my entry, just thought I would share since it somewhat semed relavent to the topic. Some of you may have seen it before....

Oh my. That has crazy implications. I mean, I realize intellectually that its just a guy made of five arms and hands... but he looks so naked. And kind of helpless.

I do like it quite a bit though. So simple. I like it when simple hits you that hard.

morbidhumor - you got it going on! i just love your style there. i can see 2 figures there though, male and female in some sort of a battle i think.
is that intentional?

sone_one - i`m a big fan. seriously. very good sketch. maybe you could deform the anatomy some more though. dunno.

artiphats - an arm that grows out of your butt.... now, that`s just sick, dude! crazy people.....

Siko X, if youre going to submit something then at least let it be an original idea. All you did was take Voldo from Soul Calibur and remove his skin. The stance hes in, the 3 blade hand weapons....hell you even left the corset thing he wears in one version of him.

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f387/imagenexus/sc2-voldo.jpg

http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f387/imagenexus/volcom.jpg

This isnt the best image to consult for likenesses but I couldnt find the version of Voldo that Im referring to. However anyone that has played any of the Soul Calibur series know what Im talking about. Maybe Im mistaken but this is just too close of a similarity.

Siko_X
April 1st, 2006, 06:40 PM
I'll admit after seeing those images they are similar. But that wasn't my intention. I don't see any reason to get worked up over something like this it happends sometimes. All in all I still feal my adition has its own originality to it, that's for everybody else to decide whether or not they want to vote for it. Next time try and be more sensible than trying to start some kind of flame war

Nexus
April 1st, 2006, 06:52 PM
Yes Voldo did have a corset in one of the games, as each game had multiple costumes and it was the default costume in one game. Secondly Im hardly worked up but the similarity was so great that I felt you were trying to pull a fast one, my apologies if that wasnt your intent. Yes this does happen sometimes but Im still a little confused as to how you didnt see that the whole idea of a character with bound eyes/mouth and jatar weapons would be too similar to something already done and change your design. Yes the idea of a flayed character is original so I give you that. Finally what I said didnt lack sensibility and I didnt say it to start a flame war. I said it to point out something that I felt was blatant theft of ideas. If Im wrong in this then I apologize.

I love Takuji Kawano's art for the Soul Calibur series... There's a certain style in his colourings that really appeal me...

Yes Voldo did have a corset in one of the games, ....
Well thanx Nexus. It's hard to tell when reading something what tone a persons taking and I asumed wrong, I apologize as well. Last thing I want is to get a bad impression off of people here. Your remarks aren't unfounded, there are similarities, but again it wasn't my intention its just something that must've happened subconsciously. I hope nobody holds it against me

Twisted Anatomy Beauty

I tried to push this as much as I could. I would like to spend a lot more time on the rendering yet, as I only did it in one long sitting. I did four pages of concepts and a quick 3-d model to get the ideas for this one. I did the 3-d model for the four-thumbed hand so I could understand how it would actually work for grasping objects.
