i voted for seba boi : just loved the bold execution: lovely visual flair and a good mix of preaned pretty boy and pirate: too many of the entries were to much one or the other and not enough of both, i thought.

also liked VampireHungerStrike as a close second. cool set of entries all round: was a fun topic too: nice change from the last few sci fi pap topics: i for one would like to see more of these cheekier ideas as briefs.

Shit I clicked the wrong button because a window popped up right when I was doing it. If the administator would be so kind as to unclick my vote that would be great. I meant to vote for SimonL, its not as finished as Id like to see it but of all the other entries I feel its the most metrosexual and still a pirate. Sorry to whomever I accidentally voted for, computer interference. I almost voted for Donkeyslayer, that is fuckin hilarious man, Im sure Jones will be ecstatic.

Good mawnin'. Surprised the polls are up already. My vote goes to AndrewLey! Awesome expression on that face, yeah he's beautiful and he knows it. Rich character. Style rocks as always, good job, dude. Props to MichaelMotion too, nice stylized approach. Reminds me of a pirate book I used to have as a kid, classic pirate with big hat and skinny black boots. I'd say tone down the texturized surface on that rock though, it draws the eye a lot to it. Good job, mate.

Voted for pixelherder. I thought his pirate looked most vain, having his tattooed muscles on display and all. It also retains a bit of a sinister look. My one criticism is that I don't think the jewelled "pirate" bracelet really suits the outfit. It seems too feminine and reminds me of stereotypical showgirls' changerooms.

For me, this round it was very tight between pixelherder, lukavi and AndrewLey.

>sigh< Well Simon was my early pick and my final vote. As far as I'm concerned it was the best at portraying the irony of the two ideas together.

Personally I tried my best to show people what I was talking about in as short a time as I could, but in the end I wasn't thrilled with what I came up with. I still think the peg-leg pedicure idea is hilarious.

I really need to get a tablet and a painter program. I feel like the only person with a pencil, paper and a camera. So old fashioned.

sone_one got my vote because he best matched the description in my mind. Many fanstastic entires, major kudos to andrewley, al-x, lukavi for amazing renderings and capturing the concept. So many fansastic entries, but a number seemed to deviate from the definition in my opinion...if it was just "pirate" that would definitely have changed things.

i like sone_one's and andrewley's the best... mine too :P. the top one is pretty good, but those boots are way wonky. not so much the boots as the feet themselves.

Sorry for the mess people.
i'm out of town -found a hotspot and decided to makethe poll - as it was already 25-th evening here (yeah-time is a little dirty f***er).
I tried to finish all the job as quick as possible as my battery was low.
Next one will be better.

About entries not taken to the poll - it's a matter of quality - we try to keep this as high as we can. There are still entries taken up that i consider not to be at the expected level - and the votes will show.
This is a weekly event - there is enough time for a well rounded entry - if not.. there is next week too :)

I think it's a bad move on your part to decide which completed entries make the cut. I don't kid myself, I can see the clear differences between what talent I might have vs. others in here. But we all are able to bring different perspectives to CHOW. I feel if I spend 6 to 7 hours on this activity, I at least deserve feedback from some of those in here who can help develop my skills. I did not expect to win the activity.

trust me - i do understand how you feel - my first COW entry - i worked a whole week - i had lots of finished variants, i wanted to win - and Fozy did't took it to the poll becouse it was not a real creature. :x (it had some metal part on it;s back)
The next one - same thing...
But i only got more motivation and never stopped - in fact - i still plan to win that COW icon under my name - but for now i need to study more.

Definitely Seba_Boi. Attitude and everything is great on the whole, and the choice of style is actually perfect for the concept-reminds me of your token Japanese RPG pirate (not in a bad way, though!) Cocky and flamboyant whilst still really masculine, always aiming for pure style. Damn me for not thinking of it myself.

well, Simonl was going to get my vote since i saw the grayscale version. the colors are great, and i really like the beckam look he has (the nipple ring is a nice touch), but i had to go with sone_one's character when i saw it. his stance is very fitting with the metrosexual men that i have seen, as do his finely groomed facial hair and facial expression. very nicely done.

there were some really nice pirate characters from VampireHungerStrike, Siko_X, Katfayheirti, and Chuck,mate, but these pirates just didn't capture metrosexuality from my point of view as well as Simonl and sone_one.
