This was inspired by the last 5weeks of my Daughter Nikittas life. I used a combination of 3 reference photos and painted it in PS5.5.

I tried to tell a story more and create as warm a feeling as possible.

I was considering putting tentacles coming out of the baby's cradle but in the end I just felt that would spoil the feeling of the picture.

Feedback appreciated.

congratulations, first off. I am celebrating my sons first week of life right now.

I also want to do a peice based on my fiance and my son, just haven't had the time yet (still adjusting to new sleep pattern).

I like the warmth and the general "feel" of the peice, and I the only thing I would mention right now is the cats seem to be as if they are not apart of the action at the moment. It looks like they are watching a movie, and are sitting right on the stage where the screen is. A little odd, but other than that, a great peice.

Afro: Yeah I think that new sleeping pattern deal settles itself down after a couple of years maybe ? :)

The cats are deliberatly protrayed as being on the outside of the scene, if you have pets yourself you'll know that they miss the attention when a baby arrives and it takes them a while to know what to make of it.

Just so i can get some input here though, if I had set out to make them part of the scene i wouldn't have cut them off at the bottom of the picture right? I'm just working out how I could of made them more part of the scene...

my fave part is the cats, personally.

i love how they're like "outside the bubble" of the event, and curiously peering in. don't change a thing, that's a perfect piece if i ever saw one =)

The cats definately distracted me, especially because they are much crisper and darker than the rest of the image.

I think it would be so dope if you had a lizard tale hanging out of the crib! But thats just evil ol me.

Great piece.
