I made up a hypothetical video game so I could practice doing concept art. This is my first attempt at concept art/character design. Any C+C is welcome and very apreciated!

Hm... the concept is ok, but in my opinion it looks a bit to simple.

I don't know what kind of game it is. But i think the sword need more work. Why? Swords rule! And more-detailed swords are nicer too look at, IMO :)

And i think the whole character needs some more details. Maybe his shirt, or maybe his pants and especially his shoes, i think they need a lot more work.

But this is all my opinion, so...:)

Well...remember, all I've done so far is to lay down the basic colors. I plan to layer up the details over the existing colors for shade. I do plan to color in the sword and add detail. I agree the sword isn't a very good design, I think I may redo it. The shadow looks stupid and I've already redone that. I'm really interested with what people think of the color choices. If anything I'm trying to keep the characters simple. A kind of animation style. I plan on making the backgrounds rather detailed and I want the characters to stand out from them. Also, what do you guys think of the structure and form/ proportions?

Nicely executed, cool shoes and cool pose. But what's he about? If it's a chaacter design, wat's his character? He now looks like a kid toying with a pirate sword. Maybe some more details.

I agree with Tayama he could use a shirt design.

But i like the lines and coloring!
