View Full Version : Chicks who draw chicks: CA Calendar (discussion moving to girls-only forum!)

Steph Laberis
March 22nd, 2006, 09:34 AM
Hey everyone! This idea was spawned in the Girls-Only TD thread and I thought it might need a little more discussion.

The idea is that the girls of Concept Art could collaborate on a calendar, each participant creating a finished illustration for one or two months (of the calendar), depending on the number of artists. The proposed idea for the calendar would be "Chicks who Draw Chicks" (title probably will change) and it's a way for the girls here to take the reins and show off their takes on the women of the sci-fi and fantasy world.

There seems to be a dead tie for those who support the idea and those who are against it. I'd be curious to hear thoughts from both view points to see if this would be a worthwhile project (though, even if there's a lot of negative feedback, it might come to fruition anyway if enough girls here still want to work on it ;) )

My original intent would be to portray women in a positive, sexy light - ya know, like pin ups were intended to. This can be as softcore or innocent as you like, or as assertive and blatant as you see fit. Nudity is of course ok, but nothing exceding the NC-17 mark.

So far, these artists who have shown interest:

i like the idea. will be interesting to see what comes out of it.
my only other idea is,as said in the other thread already, guys doing guys-also rather pinup style.
or various collabs between the "guy and girl section".(like, girl draws girl, and boy has to match his style somewhat to bring in a boy)

edit: and i thought yumiko wanted to add herself aswell?

I think its an excellent idea, kind of a new take on a 1930-60 kind of glamour pinup ones, maybe the similar poses but adapted to new themes and styles, may wanna b careful to make sure it dun look trashy.

it is totally bizarre that i had this same discussion yesterday with yumiko....we were trying to figure out some ways to have the ca community support itself better and a calandar was one of the things discussed. we have also been having discussions at times about how to promote the women on the site better so that the place becomes a bit more gender balanced...even just a little.

so yall have my full support on this one. i will talk to the other ca directors and see about printing and such. we should be able to get it printed in shanghai thru mb's sister studio at a lower cost as well. Will look into some options.

there are enuff male dominated events going on around here already...so would be good to keep the guys out of this one. sorry carnifex.

You know, I really don't understand why an art should have some gender mentioned near it. It doesn't matter only girls or boys or something in between draw it as far as it is a good art. Because it shouldn't not be judged by the gender, and age btw, and social status too. The only criteria should be the skills and the ability to transfer your thought to viewer.

And the same way it is strange to me to hear about special conditions for chosen gender artists. I really don't see any attraction in it. I believe a good art will be likable despite all odds. I think all these ideas about girls being in the back of the CA are in our imagination. I think it's artificial.
I apologise before head if my words offended someone, really didn't mean that.

I'm looking forward to this and the TD the more I get to think about them. If there were ever a published calendar I and a few more others I know would definitely buy it.

Sve: Well, it is a sad fact that when you go to an artist's/comics/ca convention, the first thing people think is: who's she with? Not, which artist is that? Happened to me lots of times at the Boston Wizard Con. On the other hand, the male artists seemed to give me more time than they gave the nerdy fan-boys. hehe.

Hey Great!! this sounds awesome! and Thank you Jason and Yumiko for going to extents to get the Calendar printed, this is really cool!!!
I am actually pretty Darn excited about this thing, hell yes!!
Sve Come on Girly!! this is like hangin with the girls. I Do agree with you on some extent though, about how Art shouldn't have gender, age, or social status being of importance.

It really isn't important to me really, I am seeing it as something fun. hmmm Kinda like when you hang with the girls and you feel at ease to talk about your relationships and feeling to your female friends. With men maybe it is harder for them to understand where you are coming from(not bad, just different conversation).

I find most of the time when I talk to my girlfriends it is a like a silent dance we don't have to explain everything, we just know. Soo... I say this is kind like, for me a breath of fresh air to be able to girlify a drawing and make everything that is feminine in me come out, and see what other female artist create.
I am really excited to see what you girls come up with! :tihi: :teeth:
I think it would be awesome Sve if you did a month, :) your work has really

I'm conflicted... on the one hand, a calendar does sound like a lovely idea, and I know poise and Tully both do fantastic work, so I'm looking forward to the results.

On the other hand... I really do think there should be no difference between us and the guys, in any professional regard, and at least personally, I'm reluctant to do things which identify me as a girl instead of an artist. I'd rather see a calendar of the top talents from CA, even though that means there's no way I'd make it in, than get in just because I was a girl.

I agree with sve, personally - I've never felt marginalized by CA. If anything, I regard CA as being much more a meritocracy than the real world, and I'd hate to endanger that.

Not trying to rain on your parade - I'm happy that you guys are getting together and enjoying the idea so much - just contributing my two cents.

This is a cool idea!
I agree a lil with Sve that girls shouldnt need to be promoted here, but it is soooo male dominated, that its kinda necassary to do this thing in order to get more girls involved with this environment.
We're not asking for special treatment, cos I dont think we need it;
but summink for just the ladies would be very, very VERY interesting...

Eeek, slots are filling up fast! I'm going to poke a few more members with a stick (Artkitty, Layil, Molly, step up!) and see if we can get one girl for each month. I was also thinking that for one month (or for January 2008) we could all collab and paint a group shot w/ self portraits... we could also make this a 15 month calendar if interest remains this strong!

Gryphon: I totally understand what you mean, someone else here had mentioned the vices of the "Gay Art" thread a while back. It's really touchy to use gender, orientation, skin color, etc. to define yourself or your artwork. My intent isn't to identify us as women before artists; it's to say "Hey! Look! There are artists here who are women!"

Really, I think Molly has a great point in that an all-girl collab can help the women here, who are the minority by far, to create something spiffy. And hey, if using the all-girl niche is a way to promote the women here, I'm all for it. Think bad-ass art slumber party ;)

...Oh yeah.

Carnifex: You are quickly becoming that boy who climbs a tree to peek into the bedroom window of the bad-ass-art-no-boys-allowed slumber party - don't make us close the blinds and create a private thread ;)

Heya,

I dont think that this calendar would serve the sole purpose of just promoting the female talent in this community. I dont think that the female talent here NEEDS to be promoted either.. there are a lot of women here who easily can keep up with the "big males" (in fact, I'm very surprised that there are so many).

But see it this way: as a male I appreciate an insight into the female psyche. this calendar could answer some questions about how women think in terms of how they see the perfect woman (thats what pinups are: renditions of beautiful, perfect human beings) or (in a deeper psychiological manner) how they wish to look like...

as I already mentioned in the other thread, this could turn out to be a nicely executed "soulstrip" of some of the female members here. Who knows.. some entries could be reditions of tattoed skinhead chicks or something.

dont do it just to please the eyes of the male members here, do it to let them see through YOUR eyes... maybe that will answer some of the questions men have asked themselves about women for AGES.

again, my 2 cents...

Cheers,
Etienne

VirusArtist. I like your post a lot, it makes a lot of sense for me, thank you for sharing this thought with me. I agree, you have a point. It will carry some information about how some women in this community think. Maybe it will be be interesting to know, or maybe not so interesting.
Still think the same though, art should be judged just on its artistic merits, without any artificial ones ( political or social).

Yeah, that's a nice way to argument your point. Let's go to personal insults. How not interesting it is.

Ilaekae

We got two things involved here...hormones and brain cells. Any time sex in any form rears its head, the hormone switch kicks on. So far, what I'm seeing is nice...and a bit unexpected, considering the average age here...an intelligent and fun reaction to an idea that could have been a disaster in a lot of other forums.

Girls (may I call you girls without offending--I come from the Ballet world and GIRLS do, LADIES hang on arms and donate money), I think this is an incredible idea. I don't think anything you do with this idea could be sexist or exclusionary in any way.

Girls think different than boys. (lets not start a massive arguement here--you all understand what I mean) At my age, I've gone through just about every phase of perception of the opposite gender that exists, and I'd love to see what happens here. Girls see themselves differently than boys see them. And the difference, no matter how subtle or blatent in individual cases, can be enlightening to all of us. Go for it!

Jason, Davi, and all the girls involved...don't put any extreme restrictions in in advance, or overthink this too much. Just let it happen. We're all adults (OKAY---I'm trying to be polite here...just bear with me!) and we know when something's inappropriate, so self-censorship should be a presumed given.

If it works, the idea of a calendar/whatever that can actually help support this rathole is an added bonus. We can do a number of them over time that include only the guys, EVERYBODY, the old farts, the young farts, the brain-dead, whatever...all on different subjects.

My only suggestion would be to give this some time to come about. We have people who sit around and throw darts at cats all day because they don't earn a living any more, kids in school (with homework and tests to worry about), and all you poor bastards out there who have no life because you have to put up with middle management incompetence), so allow enough time for everybody to get their acts together without feeling pressured.

...and lets save the Chicks-with-Dicks calendar idea for later--I've got WalMart almost ready to bite, and I don't wanna scare 'em off...

Steph Laberis
March 22nd, 2006, 01:48 PM
Ilaeke: Pearls of wisdom once again. Damn you.

Alright, perhaps the calendar should be more open-ended. Like Virus said, I didn't intend to make this calendar just to cater to the male perspective of women; it was supposed to be by women, about women.

If some of the girls here feel that topic is too stuffy, we can talk about it more in these secret forums... Davi, how do I find it...? :/ I'll still probably take the girlie art route with my own month, same as a few other ladies I think, but I don't want to take the fun out of this for the folks involved. I also would like for there to be some sort of cohesion with the subject matter though.

Hi all, I think this is a great idea. I like the idea of girls/ladies on this site working together. I'll be honest... I got more excited about the girl Tdome, than I have about anything else I've seen come through this site in a while... I love the unspoken camaraderie between the ladies here, and the motivation it inspires... I haven't completed a personal piece of art in AGES, but the Tdome and getting to see a bunch of girls' entries inspires me on a level that I can't explain.

I have always loved when there are workshops, because the girls usually ban together and make a "girls room" thread! I just like being in there, I love the feeling, it doesn't exist elsewhere on this site. It's FUN in a different way. Nobody contests that the girls' roommate threads are sexist... why? Because when it comes down to it, we know we are human and girls feel safe with other girls in a community saturated with men, and there is NOTHING wrong with that, nor is there anything wrong with girls collaberating with each other.

The Tdome and the calendar have brought girls out of the woodwork! Isn't that a great thing? It definitely means a lot to me.

This calendar idea wasn't created by some stuffy guy in a business suit saying "we need to formulate a way to bring more users to this site, lets dump some ideas through the politically correct theme generater and see what comes out of the other end." It's a bunch of us girls from the community that want to do something FUN! And there are plenty of people here who see the good it can do, and would like to help. So thanks to everyone who supports the idea. And I think the people who don't like it, can make their own calendar with whomever they want, and theme it however they wish, and I will support YOU on YOUR venture too, because I'm still glad you are part of my CA community.

Hehe, Yumiko, really :teeth:, you feel "girls feel safe with other girls in a community saturated with men". Kind of funny to hear it coming from you, you are such a pretty girl and well-liked here.

Well, I don't feel unsafe. I feel great, many guys here on forum are my good friends and I learn a lot from them. The same applies to my girlfriends. I don't feel intomidated at all on this forum. I love this forum!!! :teeth:.
I see you point, though, if it helps someone, it is a good idea.

Hehe, Yumiko, really :teeth:, you feel "girls feel safe with other girls in a community saturated with men".

Hiya Sve, that was in specific reference to girls feeling safer finding roommates with other girls for workshop purposes. I do believe that girls feel safer finding rooms and/or sharing beds within those rooms with other girls you've never met, as opposed to sharing a room with a bunch of guys you've never met. And my point was that nobody complains about the girls having their own thread for finding roommates, and I thought the kind of "chat" that goes on within those threads was cool.

I absolutely feel comfortable in this online community, I do not feel unsafe at all here! Again, my reference was regarding females sharing a room with females as opposed to men, in the context of workshops. I am not saying I doubt the integrity of the men in this community... I hope you get what I'm getting at. Sorry I could have worded that better.

I love this thread. I don't kid myself that I'm good enough to make the ULTIMATE 12, but it certainly does give a girl a goal to shoot for eh? And I like seeing the love! It *is* nice to see, regardless of gender politics. It's just a good vibe. Oh, and thanks for the headsup! I didn't know there was a femmedome! yay! I'll have to go find it.

I'm sure once word gets around even more, plenty of interested women will jump out of the woodwork, far too many for a calendar, so my one suggestion is to let women post their calendar submission vying for the 12th space. It opens it up to those who aren't a shoo-in, but also showcases all of CA's talent pool regardless if they make the cut. Frankly, I'd submit, and would love to view all the submissions for their own sake .

Only one more slot left for the 15 month calendar! Anyone who wishes to participate after the 15th slot is filled will be on back-up in case one of the ladies can't follow through! Remember, each month should have a clean, finished piece to present (we'll discuss time frames and the like once we get our 15th member and I can figure out where that secret forum is) so for now, kick back, think about your TD ( :yayca: to Magicgoo!) and many, MANY thanks to all who have joined, all who are rooting for the participants, and all who are backing this calendar ( :cheerleader: Yumiko, Davi, Manley!)

I for one can appreciate the female point of view when it comes to artistic vision. Men have the ability to compartmentalize things, emotions, logic, actions, etc. Women are in general more integrated (simply proporting modern science, not giving an expose on psychology, feminism or anything else). Seeing a grouping of art from the fairer species would actually help me grow as an artist, so I say, bring it on. Save me one. I'll keep the checkbook warm.

You're added :) Thanks for coming aboard! Like I said, this won't *really* begin until after the TD and although I want to keep the theme of the calendar women-oriented, we can take some time to let the final theme evolve into whatever awesomeness it needs to be.

As far as months go, some of us claimed the ones we wanted in this thread and one of the other Girls TD threads (need to go back and check, I know March is taken) but I also wonder if the submissions should be a little more loose (maybe we have 4 winter themed pieces which can be rearranged throughout the winter months, rather than have one that's specifically Christmas, Thanksgiving or Halloween themed... oh, man, October would be SWEET to work on!) But yeah, we can let this take shape.

From here on in, anyone else who signs up will be designated as pinch hitters in case one of us can't finish, has life get in the way, etc. I'd like to keep the final theme relatively secret so that we can have a grand unveiling when this is finished. I'll find out what the printing schedule is like and see about deadlines for artwork, etc.

I'm a fan of anything that gets people drawing. And i'm a fan of calenders in general so i would love to see this thing go through. Sexuality always is an intriguing differentiating factor in the arts, so it would be nice to simply seperate female art from male art for a moment to see what effect "being a women" has on everyone's style.

When do you guys (or rather, ladies) start?

I think, there is no female / male art. There are a good art and a bad art and this is very relative too, in my opinion.
P.S. look how many guys successfully pretend being a 14 years girl on Internet in chats and forums. and visa versa. I've been thought to be a guy for 5 month, people commenting on my drawings without thinking much about it. I'm sure you all have a similar experience. :)

Blue

I think, there is no female / male art.
Oh i definitely have to disagree with you there. Every factor of our lives effect our art; where we live, what we are exposed to, any trauma, our relative happiness. And there is no reason our gender can't also play a role, if for no other reason then because the life of a man is extremely different then a female's. For better or worse on either end, it is definitely different, and that does impact one's art.

sve
March 24th, 2006, 12:01 PM
You might be right, but i have a hard time to tell looking through sketch book what gender the owner is. I suspect I'm not alone in this. And Guys, I'm not trying to stir things up, please take it is easy, just a nice little conversation, no need to put a label to anyone forehead.
Look, btw, how many girls wanted to do a scary monster theme in the first voting in the TD. How about that? makes you think the border between genders somewhere on the cell level, need a microscope for that. Look at the magicgoo art and Molly, coolest art, would never guess it is made by woman.

Hey guys!

I'm reluctant to do so, but I think it's time to cut-off any more new participants (from this post on, everyone who responded prior to this is at least on the waiting list!) - there's been a very positive response overall and I thank everyone for sharing their thoughts (good and bad!) but now I've gotta figure out how to make sure everyone gets a month... perhaps part of the project is inventing and adding new months to the calendar? :P

I am going to set up a new thread and iron out all the details in the girls-only forum, likely tomorrow morning (kindly ask Davi for permission to view it, if you don't have permission already).

The final theme of the calendar is still malleable and perhaps we can brainstorm as a group to ensure that all who wish to participate actually CAN (maybe some artists could pair up and collab for a month, perhaps we issue two calendars since some people weren't cool with the pin-up theme... though that might cannibalize the whole project... GAH!)

But yes. This should be a group effort and I want to get exposure to as many talented ladies here as possible.

See you all in the Girls Forum! MWAHAHAHA!

A suggestion...for what it's worth...divide the calendar into 24 parts--first half of January, second half of january, first half of February, etc. That would allow for 24 artists if that many want in, and it could be done in such a way that both januarys, etc., are on the same spread possibly.

EDIT: Actually, I'm not real familiar with horoscope shit, but doesn't the sign shit run from middle of the month to middle of the month...would be a good excuse for the break...January Capricorn, January WTF come next, February same, February wWTF come third...

I would hate to exclude people...so i have an idea which I hope could be discussed.

If we do a calandar, we can have the ladies who have called spots getting the highlighted months. But, we can also have extra art images included in the back of the calandar for when the year passes by. Basically, we could include the other artists who want to join in spots before or after the calandar images...almost like an art book/calandar. I have been wanting to see CA do a better job of promoting the female artists and am hoping that it might be considered to include as many as want to participate by coming up with a creative solution to the problem.

thoughts?

I'm not certain why it has to be one or two images per month.

What about smaller images for each day? Make it a weekly calendar with the art in the day, and a little place to note important events (like Ilaekae's birthday and when Davi hits 10,000 posts)?

0kelvin
March 25th, 2006, 10:20 PM
Jason and Ilaekae both have good ideas. If you did have a seperate art section, you could have the 12 best pieces (however that would be decided, T-Dome perhaps?) featured, one as each month's spread, and the rest in the art section. That would include as many women as wanted to join, but also keep the quality very high.

Like Dogfood said, there should definitely be some CA-related holidays marked on the calendar!

Man, this private girls forum is driving me crazy. You girls are in there having pillow fights in your underwear, aren't you?

Yeah, I like the idea that it's like an art book/calendar.

Or it could be a super huge poster sized calendar with 4 images per month, allowing for 48 girls. Although, nevermind. That might look messy. And, this is just for horizontal layouts of the same proportions, so we would need to follow strict size guidelines.

That's looking pretty nice, magicgoo. I like the idea of the calender, but 48 pictures with strict agreements? That's gonna be a lot of work.

The artbook/calender seems more interesting imo. I like saving rainforests and using both sides of the paper. ;)

Steph Laberis
March 26th, 2006, 10:21 AM
I also second the artbook/calendar idea! In the Girlie forum, the idea of making this a contest also came up and was fairly popular, but like Jason, I'd rather see as many girls as possible get their artwork printed.

Even a weekly calendar could be tricky; granted, we could get over 20 chicks to work on this, but to get 52 images we'd all have to create at least 2 finished pieces and I am still working out when the deadline for this would be, so we can get these all printed.

Magicgoo: Thanks for showing a mock-up, I might whip one up too! I was thinking that we might even get more milage by having a smaller image or two in the space where the days are listed. Anyone know of good sites to research calendar layouts?

So, in an effort to get more people to participate, I'll lift the ban on new participants and I will set a date as the cut-off for new artists ... once I figure out when the deadline for finished images will be.

Send me a PM and respond to this thread if you want in!

Well, the guys here also want to start up a calendar, and my concern has been this:

Do we print two different calendars in one year... or do we let the girls have 2007, the guys have 2008? If we choose the latter, it'd be years till the boys were able to show their glory :/

rick_hershey
March 26th, 2006, 10:38 AM
What I'm trying to say is, have a calender that includes say- both 2007 and 2008 from the women. One calender, 2 years, double sized.

I don't really think it would compete with the mens calender, and I think this would give a chance for all the talented females to showcase their artwork, instead of having to double up or something else.

Either way, just my two cents- but I am looking forward to seeing the end results

dont worry :) .. i dont think a print would happen. the male pics will get their own thread in the finally finished section when they are done and thats about it. its just a fun project (or lets just say "experiment' ;) ) to show a different side of us males.

One other note: I have set 5/01/06 as the deadline for ladies to join this project. Why so late? I am also not against the submission. Judges Vote for the 12 that will be in the Calendar. This way of course we will all want to be in so we will make it look good. Im afraid I have to disagree with you here. It is unwritten law that females are more vounerable and should be sheltered and protected, othervice they could not be beautiful and consentrate on being sexy if they have to be like "one of the guys among the guys" I might be stepping on some womens toes here but hey, this is not about power, the power to be a woman is not about competing with men but about harnessing the feminine powers within you and then you become a perfect yin and yang complementing each others, what the man can not be you have to be and vice versa, wanting to be a good artist does not mean you have to compete with the men you just have to be your woman self and I think is just obvious that the men in this forum are MORE THAN DELIGHTED that there are some feminine aromas springled for their inspiration <3

well this is defenately not a bad idea either, I think that this calendar in its best stands for the community of CA.org and kind of like word or spirit of female artists gathered in this forum reincarnated in flesh (paper) or something

Julianna: Have you sent a PM to Davi? He can give your account the ability to see the private forum. He's pretty dang busy, especially with two dozen ladies asking him for the same priveleges (and perhaps a few guys wearing wigs and lipstick) so please give it some time ^^ If you still can't see the forum by the end of today, let me know.

Egets: It is interesting that you mentioned "shelter", a lot of chicks are enjoying the private forum for that very reason... I mean, how many panty/lesbian/handcuff/curtain jokes have been made in the public forums since the Girlie threads have been started? ;) I'm willing to bet you hopeful guys won't see two lesbians in their panties handcuffed to their new pink curtains for the month of May... or WILL you?! :madchef:

And hey, some of us are a "guy among guys" by choice... (Example: I'm one helluva tomboy; I was raised by my father from the time I was 12 and 90% of my friends are guys with whom I belch, fart and play video games. Most of my girlfriends act like guys too, or at least lack the kind of modesty that most girls might value) Doesn't mean that I don't value femininity, that I don't enjoy girlie chats or time away from the boys... it's more that I don't value the same aspects of femininity that other women might. And really, having guy friends sort of lets me be more of who I am, not the other way around where I am acting crude to fit in. I'd like for the women participating in this project to take whatever view they like, so I am not criticizing your stance or saying it's not valid; only that others, like myself, may not totally agree :)

I have a dozen PMs to sort out, but I will be updating both threads with more clear guidelines in a couple of days, me thinks. Thank you all for being so patient and for continuing to add thoughts and ideas to this project. :yayca:

eh... im afraid i have to disagree with you too. Each to his own but i know some gorgeous girls that could totally kick my ass. And on a similar note to steph many are far more comfortable not being tied up in a stereotype of what is girly or ladylike, they tend to be rough and ready when they want to be and generally handel life alot better then most guys i know ;)

How about being sexy for the sake of the propagation and survival of the species, we would kinda die out mighty quick if there was no one sexy around dont ya think?

While i dont disagree with you that this might apply sometimes, treating it as a "unwritten law" seems to be slightly off. Ofcourse im not a girl i really dont know what im talking about, its just i know plenty that i suspect would strongly disagree with you.

Man...some of you guys need to crawl out of that ditch you've been living in and really open your eyes and see and realize that there are MANY different types of women that exist in this world and have always existed since the beginning of time. I hate to bring my sexual orientation to this discussion or ca.org in general, because this isn't about me being a homosexual "BUTCH" woman...a dyke. I come here to learn and be inspired. I love drawing sh*t that the majority of "men" on here like to draw...does that make any sense? Not at all. You shouldn't associate someone's art with their gender. It's sexist and ignorant. My point is, not all the women on this forum or in this world wear skirts, wear makeup, wear heels, or are attracted to the opposite sex (I speak for myself). We're not in TV LAND anymore. ...I watch the LOGO channel.

I bet the people that have seen my sketchbook have mistaken me for a man. Happens all the time when people see my art and haven't seen me. But then again, I get mistaken for a pretty boy anyway so it doesn't matter.

I really like the idea of this. I think it will bring the women on this forum closer together. Jason? Thanks for backing it up and thanks for keeping ca.org alive. I appreciate it.

Hey Prodigy - I appreciate your two cents about the calendar! We've got women of all ages, backgrounds and sexual orientations who will be participating, so I'm very proud of the range of talent and backgrounds that have "surfaced" since the ideas of the All-Girl Thunderdome and the Calendar were brought up.

There's been some argument about the need to identify as a woman before one identifies as an artist. I suppose by default, having an all-girl project does that. But I don't see it as a negative thing, a crutch or a chance for entitlement, but rather a chance to create some community among the ladies (let's be honest, how many new ladies have you folks met here since these projects got underway... or how many artists made you stop and say to yourself "Whoah, So-and-So's a GIRL?!" ;)

Kitty, if you think for a second about the male psyche, pinup art becomes easy. 85% of all men fit into the following scenario...

Male 1: "What do you find most attractive about any woman you'd like to go out with?"
Male 2: "She should be breathing and warm, and have beer in the fridge."

Nero and Kitty: Please don't feel intimidated. Why not give it a shot, you might end up surprising yourselves :cheerleader:

Ok, sorry I've been MIA most of the week but I've begun to re-organize the calendar.

Here is the long and the short of it all:

In an effort to give everyone a fair shot, the calendar will be structured like a contest; there will be a set number of large image slots given to the winners, and a few of the runners-up will get a nice surprise as well! I haven't worked out the specific number of images per month (perhaps some of you have more suggestions for calendar formats and presentation?) but once I do the math, I will post official guidelines. Keep in mind that I won't really start cracking into this project until after the Girlie TD, so we've got some time to really iron things out.

Thoughts?
