hi, i`ve been looking around the site for a while now and have seen a lot of amazing artwork and such. i know for most people there first post is a drawing or something, but i sadly i do not have any good drawings to post. the reason i made an account is because i am going to start practicing to become a GREAT artist one day. i am going to do a self-portrait this weekend which will be my first real drawing with a purpose. and it wont look the greatest but i will still post it in the sketch section and see what kind of C&C i can get. but this whole post would be a waste if i just talked and had no drawings or anything so i have a few questions that maybe you guys at CA could answer:

1)who are some really good artists at CA? if its in one stlye of drawing or all-around. cuz then i know who are some good people to get inspiration and ideas from.

2) what are some good resoruces that help me get started in drawing? i already have the book "drawing on the right side of the brain" but some more resources would be great because i really have no talent for drawing AT ALL, but i will work as hard as i can to become a GREAT artist.

*also any questions for ME would be great, too
**well, i can`t think of any more questions and i am SO... sorry for the HUGE post but i hope you guys can maybe help me out and answer some of my questions...anything that would help to get started in this big "drawing community" would be awesome...so once again:

THANK YOU SO MUCH

Welcome.:)

1) Everyone! Watching the professionals is nice, there are plenty here. But a good learning tool is checking out some of the life drawing and sketchbook threads. Watching how people learn from thier mistakes. So YOU can learn from them as well.

2) good resources? Check out the fine arts studies thread. Also the weekly activities, and daily sketch group are good for getting the minf flowing.

All in all, I say you should really just spend some time roaming the site. seeing what exactly it is that conceptart.org has to offer.

Hope you enjoy the site, man. The whole thing is the best learning tool you could want, all for free :)

1) To be a bit more specific,

Hurricane, Android, Wes9000, Jason Manley, Marko Djurdjevic, El coro, DSIllustration, Flynt, etc... Just go into the "Finally finished" section, find who you like, and look around for their names.

2)Hmmm... A mechanical pencil is always nice. The loomis books went down, which sucks. But yeah, go to the fine arts section. There should be plenty!
