Ok, these are my first tries on photoshop. Actually, I don't even know if they are going to show up, I'm not exactly sure how to do it. I don't have a wacom pad. I just scanned some of my drawings and painted them. Let me know what I could work on, thanks.

I am suprised on how well you did with just a mouse! But I think the drawing is the downfall. The first one...is just twisted all to heck. The left arm doesn't have a shoulder.
If these are just rough drawings try to draw with more propose. Look at anatomy book for the spots that you don't understand so that you can learn as you draw.
The third one has some good highlights, particually on the noises. Did you use the doge/burn tool? On the necks...look at this http://www.fineart.sk/show.php?w=920
(you can look at all teh loomis goodness here http://www.fineart.sk/index.php?cat=1
do you see how the muscels in the neck differ from yours?
one more thing and then i will leave the rest for others...the portrait views jaw is very square it looks distorted but if that's what you were going for...
I lied...one more thing...full face and portraits tend to flatten characters to the max!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
p.s. I ment none of these crits to be mean

Look at Egon Schiele on how he uses line. Lay your line along the form, as if it goes around the shape, this helps take a flat service and turns it into a form. Get a mirror, set up for a self portrait, sit so light crosses your face 3/4, dark room. What you are doing is learning how to see, squint, draw, paint, fast, stay away from details, look for shapes, they are things to build detail later onto, you need the fundamentals first. Don't give up, it may suck but you have a long way to go, and it's ALL IN THE GOING, loose yourslef in the process, let your art be your teacher, make messes, follow what really turns you on, tell your own story here somehow.

If you are keen of progressing your art digitally, buy a wacom tablet sooner than later. No point in trying to make do with the mouse.

thanks so much for the help. I'm pretty busy with classes right now, I'm majoring in computer animation, but as soon as summer comes around, i'll get a wacom pad and get to work.

if anyone has any suggestions on what type of wacom tablet I should invest in, I would greatly appreciate it.

Your colors are either too bright or too dim. Try to make it exactly in the middle.
For the blue robe men picture - maybe add a forest in the backround to provide a setting.
Fix Jesus's mouth - it's too small.
You've got something to work with.
Keep doing you

If money is not a big issue, get a Wacom Intuos 3 6x8(inches) or 9x12. Looks like you will be in CG for the long haul, so its good to get the more advanced model that will meet your needs as you progress. On the otherhand, even the cheaper Graphire models will be tons better than the mouse.
