stine
March 13th, 2006, 12:32 PM
wow, shade, that's great! i thought about something similar, but i don't think my camera will be able to get it: wanted to make sparks with an old polyester-blanket i have... :)
i'm really happy you all like the topic...

Sorry for the newbie-question, but... Where do you send the picture?
Post them in this thread starting Monday?

stine
March 14th, 2006, 03:10 AM
hi manu! the challenge has already started this monday, so you'll have til friday to post your picture in this thread. remember that only one photo of yours can participate and that is has to be a NEW one, taken exclusively for this challenge... sorry, don't want to teach you, but i thought i say once more... :)

claudeEGYPT
March 14th, 2006, 06:40 PM
Okay, I give my right up for this competition to put my own photo, instead i put up a photo that i have given permission to put up by my brother, if you vote for this photo, you vote for my brother, and he'll get to choose the next topic.. no biggie.. But i repeat.. this is not my work!

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/1479/electricity8xw.jpg

Anyway, this is exactly what i had in mind, my brother made it easy and snapped it before i did. So there's the result.

stine
March 15th, 2006, 08:19 AM
wow, there's a lot happening in your brother's photo, claude! :) cool. mine's quite static, but anyway: it's a bike dynamo. "leg-made electricity" so to say...

http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d41/stine17/dynamo02.jpg

the photo i originally wanted to take didn't work because of my crappy camera. tried it with my analog, but that'll take some time...

ShadeOfDawn

I did not alter this picture at all - not even hue or saturation. I just added the border.

Shade! THAT IS SO AWESOME! Is that one of those ball things? I like yours so much!

Thanks Molly! its like one of those ball things, except its 2D (well flat). I always wanted one of those balls, and eventually my brother got me this for my birthday - its close enough. I also really like this because the same company that made mine made the ones they used in Star Trek for the Borg regenerators. Unfortunately they were out of green when my bro went to buy it. I'll be making a thread soon of all my other pics from this.

Nice entries everyone.

This was made by just using a slow shutter speed capturing an electric sign, at night.

Scanned from film, no colour enhancements.

That's very pretty Scipher. Did you do the two elements seperately (image, then "light painting") and then combine them?

scipher
March 16th, 2006, 07:22 PM
actually bill, that image is all real time. if you look to the middle right (where the light streaks end) there's an opaque face of the dude generating the light/movement. i simply asked him to face the camera while placing a slow shutter and was able to catch that nice effect.:teeth:
