Nice mood you've captured-especially with the 2nd
-That post in the first one separates the piece too much into two- and there's no focal point. My eye goes everywhere - partly due to the lights that have the same luminosity + the equal brightness of the waterfall along with the lights from the buildings makes it very spotty. You need to use light/dark to draw your eye to a certain focal point
-the texture on the rock in the 2nd looks too "pasted on" so you might want to roughen that up a bit. Spend a little bit more time on the shrine: Even though it has curves, it still looks a bit wobbly. The birds are a good way to establish scale although according to them, the shrine is very small?
