Well not really a fish, more like a humish? The idea is simple, humans have evolved over the next 4 million years into a lesser life form. Well DEvolved is more like it, and have reverted back to the sea, so I am trying to blend both human and fish-like features. Face is human-ish, body is fish(er)-ish. Front and rear fins will be like vestigial hands and feet, with elongated toes and fingers that are webbed. Dorsal fin with look like a mohawk hair do, but I'm stuck as to what I can turn the tail fin into. I might leave it just a normal fish tail, but I have been beating my brains out on what to do with it, trying to come up with something creative. Any ideas?

This is where I am so far:

I've yet to start on texture for the scales, and they are still in rudimentary stages of construction. I'm also thinking about making this into a psuedo-angler fish, you know one with a thing sticking out of their forehead, used to bait other fish? I'm leaning towards a very small brain hanging off the end. At the rate we're are going evolutionarily speaking....Ahem

Thanks in advance for any input!

I do like where this is going.
To me, the human/fish thing is kind'a odd, but hey, it can be done.
I mean, the Creature from the Black Lagoon was one of the "Humish" kind'a sorta...

I think that since you are planning on having a semi-human face, make his/her's ears to blend into the scales,
that way it'd have ears, but they wouldn't jump out at you, and might look good if not too human-like.

I can't really tell, but if you roll small teeth and then bake them and place them in the fish, that will give you
better results, not unless the teeth are that way purposely.

I would also think that instead of fins, it'd be more like hands, with enlongated forefingers and the middle finger
maybe, and very thin and boney, and not too large, but just almost normal size, and it'd be where you couldn't
quite tell which one it's supposed to be, fin or hand...
Maybe even have a very small, but noticeable shoulder area, well rounded with a thinnish arm, but really frail.
In other words, I agree with you on the hands and feet... heheh

The nose protrudes a little too much for me, and is too high, I mean it's fine, but if it came closer to the upper lip
area, that to me would be more streamlined, and fish, and I suppose that "humish" are too.

Maybe on the "bait" it could be a human head, with a generic face on it, something along those lines.
More like the bug creatures from movie they walked and looked like generic humans, but were cockroaches...
(I can't remember the name...)
"Mimic" was what I was trying to remember...

The tail could be more on the level of dolphins, with the tail being horizontal rather than vertical.
You could do the same thing (only different) than what you did with the arms/hands, but make them stronger
looking, something that would look like a strong thigh with weird-ish feet fins.
These hands and feet should (to me) be resting close to it's side, that way he's streamlined, and it's not so 'in yer
face' type thing.

That's a few things I saw when I looked at this, either way you do it, it's a good idea, you can't go wrong with the
way it is now.

Good luck and I'll be watching this, or, I might go to Long John Silvers for dinner!
