After two months of heavy work, research, twig hunts, photographing, studying real life lynxes at a wildlife centre, I completed this.
I also studied the techniques of Terry Isaac, so credit should be given to him.
The scan does the colours no justice. And I hate the paws.

Watercolours, acrylics and oils on 22" x 28" aquarelle paper. (As long as you work in layers, the mediums won't clash.)

I work mainly with illustrations of looser nature, but the above piece was a tad harder to make.

I think your hard work payed off, that looks excellent. Fur and hair can be a real pain to render but you did it well.

If you're 15 years old, too, so help me...I'll throw a fit or something.

Excellent rendering and detail. I don't understand what that faded word in the background is--is it a watermark? I can make out 'atina'...

The paws aren't grounded on the log very convincingly. The tail also has a tangent with the log and in general looks sort of flat. I think if you added the fine fur detail along the edges as you have in other parts of the lynx, these problems would be remedied.

I think part of the problem with the paws is that the bottom edge, you have rounded outward. If you showed some separation between the toes and some indentation from where the paw rests on the log, that issue would be resolved.

Nope, I'm not 15... I turned 16 last sunday.

And thanks for the help!! I'm definitely going to fix this. :)

It says "Platina", and yes, it's a watermark for protection.

This might be my favourite painting by you Thess, the details you have put into it is stunning, and too bad the "dots" on the nose isn't shown ;) (Have seen it IRL)

I soo like the background, it's really well detailed and well planned.

I am just stunned by your art!!
