Sarcophagus: thanks! yeah I use the pressure setting.
Diego: well I create the color block in underneath the sketch, and I start to work out a little bit of the form with the lines still on top, when I feel that it's going good, I merge and just paint on one layer. the lines start fading away. thanks man!
Zebz: yeah I know my heads suck. I always make them too big, But i def started to work on that. Thanks zebzman.
Gerbil Fetus: thanks man! I haven't seen that seinfeld episode haha, i'll have to check it out.
chubb: haha thanks man! yeah she's a keeper.
sabe2003: thanks man! i dig the stuff in your book as well.
whiteeeeeee: thanks for dropping by man, sweet sb you have yourself!
Grandmassa Mr. Spect: thanks!
Qxzi: thanks man! yeah i love progress shots, they always look so different from the final image.
Mr.Delicious: thanks man! Potato? haha yeah I guess it does look like a potato. I don't know what it is. yeah i def have a bad habit of drawing stiff emotionless things, but that is the biggest thing I am working on now! Glad you could stop by.
Rhineville: Yeah i'm still in school, but right now we have the summer break so I won't go back to school until the end of august. I'm not worried about quitting my job and having money because I still live with my parents, so it's not like I have bills to pay. And I figure I'd rather spend more time doing art than making cash on the side. It's a small price to pay for getting better right? I now spend anwhere from 7-9 hours a day on my art. on good days 9+. Thanks for dropping by man!
Erilaz: Thanks man! Good to hear from you again.:}
Justin Oaksford: haha thanks. Yeah I guess it is a potato.
zao75231: thanks dude.

Man, you have really nice style in your portraits. The brush strokes are really attractive. I really liked the creature the coloured on this page, too, again a really nice style. Could you reveal what brushes you use in your potraits? I'd be really interested in trying them out.
I especially like this one;

Awsome stuff Skeif, haven't been to your sb for a while now.
Enviros are looking nice, though I get a feeling of "miniatures" rather then actual places. I think that could be to do with edges being quite sharp but the details really blurry.

nice sketchbook. you did a really great job with the colors and lighting on that last character. he's definitely my fav on this page. the rest of your sketchbook shows a ton of progress too. i'd probably never have the patience to paint a big canvas like you did here (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=137708&d=1180121855) :)

Is it an overlay on monchrome value? Is this even in PS?
Just love the solid feel and texture of the lights on the arm and the blade.

AztcFireFlower: thanks! Yeah it's in PS. I just do the monochrome study, and then I do a color layer and block in general colors. I then mess around with color balance, saturation, contrast. etc. I also paint over the top of it too to make it more convincing, such as darkeneing the shadows, lightening highlights etc.
Mr.Delicious: yeah my weapon knowledge sucks right now, thanks though!
Gryphon: thanks yeah I should do that. Haven't rendered much weapons.

Very nice rendering. I also like your sketch books. Though one thing I do see in your images (like mine) is that there are no static or soon-to-be actions in your characters. Some of your sketches are posed as statues. I don't really know how to define it, but Hurri's quick sketch (http://www.conceptart.org/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=185902&stc=1&d=1187182185) is one thing that I am talking about.
I need to work on putting emotion into my art too. Keep up the good work, mate.

though these last portraits are looking really good, there is something dull (flat) about the eyes. They seem a bit dead to me. Maybe it's the lack of reflection or color or something. Otherwise really cool portraits.

Hello, Man you are an amazing artist your sketches are amazing,do you take pictures of your sketchpages or scan them, I am just asking because I am looking for a scanner to fit a 11x14 sketchbook (dame I dont think I will ever find one for a good price, anyways ). Looking at all yourself portraits I ask myself would it be hard to draw you in a caricature, and the answer is yes, I hate drawing pretty people in caricatures, well I just wanted to have a little smalltalk, and again you are a amazing artist who inspired the 18 yr. old.

cool gun dude! Just make sure you keep an eye on things like the trigger size. right now you could probably only fit a long twig like finger in there. try to think of how the gun would sit in a real pair of hands. The front handle bar thing also looks a little small relatively speaking. I'm really only repeating what most of my teachers probably have said about my stuff : )
Great enviros too dude
