ok im new here, well kinda. I've been hiding in the shadows lookin at other peoples art and just getting used to the whole place. I have a Deviant Art account (it's PhantomBlaze (http://phantomblaze.deviantart.com) as well)

Well I am still learning, so alot of my artwork wont be amazing or really good, but thats why im here, i want more honest critique on my work so I can get better it. I want to get a job in Video Games, but first i have to finish high school and go to college...well you could have figured that out already. I'll try to put up new pictures often but i cant really promise on it.

This is a bit old, so you can see that theres quite abit thats off there. Like the anatomy. i need to work on my anatomy some more...

i know, it looks kinda skinny. I did it for a friend, it's a character he role plays with. An angel warrior person...

Ya ya. it looks kinda weird and i sketched it pretty fast. I just wanted to get used to drawing things from the front side and back to learn the way artists in Game Industies do it.

OK so im gunna start thinking about drawing different races and such. The most common that I've noticed in fantasy stories. Elves

Please give an honest critique that could help me improve.

More pictures to come soon.

You definately need to do more studies, and I see you realize that. Good!

Start drawing from life as much as possible. It'll increase your skill greatly. If you really want to become a professional, you're going to need to study your ass off. You'll need to start drawing a lot - at least 6 hours a day. It's hard work, but you won't improve much at all from drawing from your head all the time.

Try taking a life drawing class - they're really fun, and help a LOT! If you have some time, go to a cafe or something, and draw the people around you. Maybe you have friends or family who will let you do portraits of them. Draw your coffee cup in the morning. In the very least, study from a photo. Photos aren't as good as life, but they're a heck of a lot better than just drawing from your head.

Keep drawing as much as you can. Draw until your hands are writing with pain, and are stained with ink and graphite. This site has a LOT of great information, motivation, and support. You have all the resources you need to work hard and find success - it's just up to you to fuel it.

Goodluck!

ok i took your advise ryn. ive been looking more at the anatomy of things. ive also drawn self portraits and a few of other people...
i did do some more sketches from my imagination. i think its an improvement but not much
(i did them kinda fast so lines maybe a bit messy and off on the anatomy and such)

heres a few

ok i did more study on the human body. started going farther into muscles and how it would affect the look of the skin and body over all. I also had gotten more study into proportion. i need to work on it more.

drew this by using what i learned in my studies...
