This looked like the safest forum to say hello in.
I am a Concept artist for a local special make-up FX studio in Vancouver. Its not my money job. I work in a factory for that, but it is paying work.
Looking at what is being posted here sure makes me humble. I realise I have a long way to go but I will post a couple of my pics to say hello.
This place is a bit over-wealming but I am sure it will help me grow as an artist very much.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Here is a concept for a movie I was working on. I won't say what it was until it gets released but I think its safe to show the art as it was a rejected design, and the gag didn't even make it into the movie due to production errors.

here are a couple more. I want to participate more but I find so little time.

Here is an ogre, based on a friend at work. ( my factory job)

Rough drawing but I like the feel of this one.

Well, welcome, first thing!

Second, I prefer the last one, primarily because most folks (myself TOTALLY included) rarely do concept art of people who COULD actually exist, nice to see that.

BTW, I do *not* wanna meet your friend the ogre is based on. His nipples could kill a rhino. :p

Welcome aboard,

Welcome to the boards!

You're going to come a long way due to the influence and support you'll get here. Not to mention the inspiration to be as good, if not better, than the cream of the crop here. You'll learn a lot!

I like these works, especially the ogre, the uni-brow is the best part. The textures on the straps and belt could be improved, but its cool.

Keep on practicing, you'll be out of that factory before you know it.

He really does look like that! haha. Yeah. The textures are pretty weak. I was trying to get leather but I need a bit more work there for sure.
The bloody guy looks a bit funny too mostly because I accidentally forgot to resize the image after I scanned it, it was about 2 inches high, and I didn't realise until after I painted it. Needless to say I lost a lot of detail when I resized it and tried gaussian bluring it a bit but really, I should just go back and do it again.
Alls fair though. Its all a learning experience. I would love to show my latest stuff but its all under nda :(
