Intro: Eliphos is an old project that i've brought to a few forums in the past. I will make a page about it and describe it more in detail but basicly Earth is starting to fall part. We are now looking for earth 2. Eliphos is the first pick but is over populated with are huge assortment of creatures and odd plants. I(and others) will write up semi-detailed descriptions of the creatures and YOU make the planet. The descriptions give alot of detail, but leave ALOT out which means it's up to you too follow both the guide lines and use your head. Good luck!

:: Species Name: Melmix bug (Arboreus MelCimex)

Description: The melmix bug is large insectoid that uses trees as a shell, but not for protection or food - to trick hungry mammals looking for honey. The melmix will curl up inside and/or outside of the tree and secrete a poisonous ooze that leaks from the bark which mimics honey. The ooze has no scent, so it won't call pray from far away, it must be seen. Melmix's try to find trees in very populated areas especially where large mammals locate. Once the melmix's prey is poisoned the insect will sting it's victim with a very heavy dose of posion to make sure the animal is completely dead. After it's prey is dead it will drag whatever meat it can into the tree and slowly consume it. Melmix trees are easy to find due to the large mess of bones and dried blood round them.
