Hey Everyone,

I already posted this in the Game Design Studio area, but I have a feeling more people read the posts in this area. :teeth: I am the Lead Concept Artist for Ground Zero and our team is looking for some new members. Our mod is inspired by the Fallout series of CRPGs from Black Isle Studios, but has gradually morphed into a unique setting for which we are experimenting with new themes and game mechanics. We are using the Doom 3 engine to create our immersive post-apocalyptic environment and released our first prototype a few weeks ago to a very positive response. You can check out the project in greater detail at our website (http://www.groundzeromod.net/)!

Hope to work with some of you soon!

Jennifer

To apply for a position please either leave a post here or in the Ground Zero forum (http://www.groundzeromod.net/forum/).

Current Positions

Lead 3D Artist will create the most complex 3D assets, ensure consistancy among all models contributed for the game, and work closely with our lead concept artist in the management and delegation of visual art. This position is only for a very dedicated modeller as you will be a part of the core team. You should have some familiarity with low-polygon modelling, normal mapping, and real-time 3D engines. A background in character modelling and animation is preferred but not required.

Character Modellers/Animators will create a library of characters based on concept art and our central style guide. Our characters are highly customizable through rigid attachments and skins and require a variety of animations for movement and combat. We use models imported from Maya into our platform game, Doom 3. Prior experience with the Doom 3 character animation system is preferred but not required.

Texture Artists will work within the parameters established by our style guide to create a convincing and consistent aesthetic for the game world. Virtually every visible surface in the game is a static mesh and requires UV mapped color, specular, height, and normal maps. You should be interested in real-time game engines and be able to work within a video memory budget.

Concept Artists will work with our lead writer and concept artist to visualize three unique cultures evolving in a retro-futuristic world gone bad. A wide variety of concept art is required including illustrations which help establish mood in the game environment, detailed drawings/turn-a-rounds of game assets, and illustrations for the interface and documentation. Prior experience with concept art is preferred but not required.

Programmers
We are looking for individuals with a thorough understanding of C++ and some knowledge of game design to assist our lead programmer in creating RPG mechanics with Doom 3's SDK. Individuals with prior modding experience and a strong interest in creating a post apocalyptic RPG preferred.
