overseas payment?

Hello any and all.
I was curious if the easiest way to recieve payment from an overseas employer would be through a bank account? So they could transfer funds from their account to another...or is there an easier/safer/more common way?
I'm not really sure, anyone with info, it is greatly appreciated.

A lot of people use Paypal, some have had trouble with them (like the ppl taking care of the workshops) but I haven't.
