First and foremost I think the work displayed in these competitions blow me right out of my shoes and socks. But i see most of the work digitally, At least in the competitions that I see here.

Dont you guys think that a contest using only traditional methods would encourage us all to be more creative, learn new techniques, be better artists? I mainly color in digital, but nothing beats the fascination of how someone can manipulate color pigments into amazing pieces of work.

So any of you guys intrested in this idea? (or have i completely missed something like this in the forums)

No one said you couldn't use traditional methods in any of the contests as long as it looks finished. There have been entries done with charcoal and graphite. It's just easier to do it all in digital because there's less prep work and putting it on the net is ez as pie. It would be cool to see more of a dynamic amount of mediums used but for me digital is still the easiest (More because of time reasons).

I know this, but thats the point of my thread. A seperate competion would allow people the use of a longer timeframe.

hmm if we could get enough people in it could work really well. Even if not you could always get a decent group going and put it all in the challenge arena.

Count me in. I still prefer mediums that don't talk back to me and don't read my emails...

well we do have a competion starting tommorow. It will involve traditional only of your choice. Check the t-dome challange arena section. Just post in the thread i started if your intrested. Its a 2 week challenge.

Perhaps Ill start a regular Traditional Challenge thread there.
