Hi all

This is a piece I sketched for a design exercise that some of us are doing after hours at work. I posted the image as well as a small detail shot. Let me know what you think!

looking good francis, glad to see you are getting into the more "paintery" side of painting.

loving the close up on the creature's face at the bottom.

Nice to see you here francis, i thought you had dissapeared for a couple of years.

I like the mood of the pic and the details, but the red character makes no sence to me....but thats me

There's a remarkable level of finish for what you consider just a sketch.

The design of the figure is really interesting with the asymmetry and all the weird, bulbous forms. It's just a very compelling piece overall.

I'd just like to see more of what it is you guys are doing.

Francis!
You've really become good at rendering! You've clearly gotten rid of the lines and are now putting volume in there through lighting - great job! Keep up the great work!

davi - thanks a lot, I am trying. Hard to find time to do experimental stuff, not that this is all that far out...

crash - yeah, pretty weird character. It's actually based on a painting in terada's first (?) book, a stubby guy with multiple arms and legs wearing a giant kettle on his head.

gez - cool man, thanks a lot.

blackhand - thank you; hm, I think there are plans afoot to compile the results at the end of the year and publish them in some form. There are probably 10-12 people in the studio participating in these exercises at any given time.

Go - yeah of course I remember you; your stuff made quite a good impression here. Hope you can drop by again soon and we can catch up.

Loga - thanks d00d.

Frostie - Hey man! Thank you, I appreciate the encouragement.

Rhomb - glad you liked it sir.

Thanks all
Francis :D
